...

This is an easy one for me, and it's my latest Patek acquisition, last summer. One of the rare handcraft dials they produced in 2018, broadly named "Cinque Terre"...

 By: FabR : February 14th, 2019-10:14
...did in fact represent Boccadasse, my favorite neighborhood in my hometown of Genova, where I still spend countless nights with friends and a cocktail every summer. So needless to say, I wanted this Patek quite badly, and my dream miraculously came true...

Amazing work. Looks exactly like it.

 By: zabreg1 Mr White : February 14th, 2019-10:19

By: blomman Mr Blue : February 14th, 2019-11:15
Oh, so you are into GP now? Then you better take this one off me...! "This" was a MIMO CENTRIC with grey dial, large Staybrite case, New Old Stock... That "Lucky Punch" set off a new theme in the collection - Regulators! Or as it says on the dial MIMO CEN...

No argument from me! :) [nt]

in fact, I do have a few but this one sticks out as it is today my signature watch... The GP To John Harrison with its special hand-painted enamel dial has been a dream watch for me for a long time and a dream it was. It was basically out of reach for me...

I like cunning plans :)

 By: NickO : February 15th, 2019-09:28
I've always enjoyed searching for "lost treasure", when I was a boy my favorite toy was my metal detector, and so I love to troll pawn shops online because every once-in-a-blue-moon you uncover something interesting. This is a story about a Roger Dubuis E...

Thanks for joining Lucky Punch weekend. Cheers D

Such a great piece.

 By: zabreg1 Mr White : February 15th, 2019-10:55
Good thing you caught it. And shame for what happened to it before.

Rescues are the most rewarding . . .

 By: Dr No : February 15th, 2019-14:47
. . . acquisitions - fully agreed on that point, Nick. I've had a few, including the vintage Omega I'm wearing today. Try finding a balance assembly and a pallet fork for a 30T2rg. Not an easy task. But well worth the effort ;-) . . . ...

There were instances over the years . . .

 By: Dr No : February 17th, 2019-08:48
. . . when a candidate would pop up but funds weren't available. Can't remember exactly, but it had to be at least several, maybe half a dozen. Once, an excellent 910 with orange hands was literally on my wrist. A friend of a friend had just acquired it, ...

A lovely RD indeed!

 By: KMII : February 16th, 2019-23:33
As for the person, I don’t think it’s intentional but some people simply attach a lot less value and don’t take meticulous care, when it comes to watches. So probably not a watch collector in that case 😉

Wow, Great work saving this RD Nick ...

 By: Cpt Scarlet : February 17th, 2019-06:50
It was obviously waiting for you !

Buying blind

Hi My luck (predictably some might say) came from Japan. It also proves how dangerous this place is! Saw pictures of the urushi Seiko posted here and was instantly struck. As it was a JDM I had to order it directly and I couldn't get my greasy mitts on it...

Cheers dear jml

 By: Ares501 - Mr Green : February 15th, 2019-12:10
Cool decision. HAGWE

Those Seiko dials really are something else.

 By: halkcb : February 16th, 2019-02:59
both were acquired while on overseas trips with no expectations of any watch purchase. First, after a very vinous dinner with a couple i knew,i woke surprisingly refreshed the next morning and,on leaving their house, strolled round the corner to ,at the JL...

Two top choices, Henry. [nt]

But for me, I love the Credor. It's got that complete and utter simplicity to it. Always admired their craftsmanship.

A lucky punch 🥊

Back in ‘13 I figured something classic and iconic should enter the collection. A Genta watch. Dilemma 1. So to me there were only two choices. A Nautilus or a Royal Oak. And after some debating I preferred the more fluid shape of the Nautilus. The octago...

Thx! Very versatile indeed. [nt]

Don't ever let go. Oh, and I think the Snoopy could also make this category, no?

And I really like how it’s not a safe queen, Arie!

And how most of your watches see water sports at some time 👍🏻😊

Nothing that is likely to appreciate massively...
