I never even thought about owning a Breitling until these two vintage Chronomat “Big Case” examples came my way. The case is on the large size at 48mm but the dial details and beautiful and quite rugged and accurate Venus 178 manual winding movement won m...

maybe you know my love for small indie brands and that i told myself i won,t add a watch from a big brand to my collection for a long time . Well because of some nice PuristS who have written some nice artikels a while ago about the Seiko Presage line and...  

... loving these watches?? I specially love the second one with that stunning blue dial. Seiko offers a lot of quality for its price. And Watches from their Presage and Grand Seiko lines are superb high quality timepieces. I know a collector here who only... 

I know another guy that’s in close proximity to you with similar hangups.

And in multiple dosage, too 😉 I can certainly recommend to keep on looking - there’s more than just Presage with Seiko 👍🏻

Long long time ago ….I bought a watch from Patek Phillipe salon in Paris. I pre –ordered and flew to Paris to pick it up. Loved it. Spent a lot of money but was happy. I cannot remember if it was in the Salon or a few weeks later I learnt that Patek were ...

Never thought I'd consider a big Panerai like this one. It's clear that I've lost my mind, as my wife and friends remind me. ...  

It’s a comfortable watch and not as chunky as the bigger lugged 1940 and 1950 cases. But the dial looks HUGE, I have to admit. I love it but there are times I say, ‘Nah, put something on that’s smaller and not quite so bold.’

With a 6.8” wrist, I admit to having doubts with this beast. But it’s too beautiful to leave in the cage 😉

... I also thought that I couldn´t bear to wear a watch larger than 40 mm... till I discovered and fell in love with Panerai watches. At present I mantain my watches in the 38 to 42 mm range. But I have an special niche in my collection devoted to Panerai... 

First, I always said I would NEVER get a yellow gold watch. I was a 'cold' metals guy... Until I fell in love with the Lange PLM and that milky white dial. Then, I hunted one for a better part of the year. My other big thing was 'I will never buy a Rolex ...  

That PML is a beauty in any metal!

And PLM... well, I am not too fond of the black dial, I feel they watered down the whole PLM line with the omission of the email dial. That's why I had to go gold.

I´m also awhite metal guy. But I have to recognize the charm of certain timepieces with a gold case and even with a gold bracelet. Now, regarding Rolex... you know how much I love the brand! I´m glad you decided to explore both!! Keep enjoying them so muc... 

And Rolex... well, I have bought a few for the wife, but never even considered one for myself. Until Joe decided to make a mess in my head.

Over priced tool watch. It’s for people who don’t know better. A lazy choice. Many more superior brands out there. Too many people flaunting Rolexes in Singapore (retirees with their DJs and young professionals with their Subs). Just going with the herd. ...

And what a story it is 😊 The Mark II somehow really sings to me, too...

my few sports watches are confined to 2 Rolexes (GMT, Sub) and my Seikos. Military watches, especially on NATOs were not my things. And I detested NATO straps. Tried it once on my Speedy, and disliked the feel of it, and how the watch head kept moving aro...  

... but I find they look horrible on my wrist. Being rather thin the sides of the Nato looks exagerately thick at the sides when I use them. Anyway they come in lots of colors and they look formidable in photographs, you can play changing the look of a wa...

I tend to be relatively brand neutral, so the chances of a never are not particularly high with me generally. Still, I went through my pictures and found a watch that I really didn’t think I would ever get but in hindsight I wonder why I waited so long. I...

Unfortunately I have been on various business trips every day since emerging from the hospital, including this weekend. But this will hopefully change eventually. Fully agreed with you on the G-Shock. Certainly not one for the office but it definitely has... 

When I started with mechanical watches I knew for sure I would never ever buy a Rolex... Yeah.....that never really worked out... ...

Having said that, don’t underestimate the power of the Explorer II. It is a superb summer watch. Especially in laid back places 🌴.

Those jackets are still there, the watches however are not. Flipped. Regret letting that DayDate go though. Having said that; due to its weight (in any account 😉) it is not the most wearable watch in day to day life.

By the time I got interested they were already at twice MRSP, now more like at 3 times - probably the modern Omega with the fastest appreciation. And as you say, such a fun watch, too 👌🏻

During many years of watch collecting I have learned sometimes the hard way NEVER to say NEVER…. Probably because I am too passionate I have sometimes put myself in a difficult situation on my own. I remember very well the day that Patek Philippe Geneva h...  

... which I can imagine were not easy to let go, in spite of your statement of Never selling them. Some times we need to let them go, sometimes we feel the need of something different. Our journey in Life and in Collecting is so long and meandering... we ... 

...but regrets lead nowhere; I had to let them go for different reasons but I am lucky that I had the chance to enjoy them for a while, and in the meantime I have other nice toys to play with
