I like this video of Beck giving the middle finger during an awards ceremony:

Great guitarists of that era, there are so many, some no longer alive: Jimi Hendrix, Pete Townshend, Brian May, Jimmy Page, Keith Richards, George Harrison, Ronnie Wood, Maury Muehleisen. For my money though, it'll have to be Eric Clapton. Here's a charming video of him explaining how the electric guitar works:

Here on the acoustic guitar, with Running on Faith, and the first half of Walking Blues (check out that 'skeletonised' guitar):

He's got a lovely singing voice too, something that tends to get overlooked. On the electric guitar, with I Shot the Sheriff:

And here paying tribute to George Harrison, with While My Guitar Gently Weeps (watch out for him forgetting some of the lyrics in the middle of the song, and Dhani Harrison, George's son, playing the guitar):

I'm wearing a Longines Conquest Ref 1543 from 1967:

. . . starts now. Jeff was one of the all-time bests. Got to see him perform once forty years ago; unforgettable. There's video footage of the encore performed with some of his pals. As luck would have it we left early to beat traffic, so the once-in-a-li...

Being a lifelong U2 fan, this was the best concert of my life! Went with 2 mates, both fellow WIS. Since we knew it was going to be warm and humid here in the tropics, we decided to go with steel watches on bracelets, and make it a Genta theme. So we woun...

Thanks, Art, for that clip. It was very much to my taste! I don't understand how one can sing and play that intricate guitar work at the same time!

Never heard of Scotty Moore. But very interesting reading about him. Thanks. The other backing guitarists I like are the ones on Springsteen's E Street Band, Steven van Zandt and later, Nils Lofgren.

Still going strong …
