Here’s mine:

Nov 03, 2019,04:54 AM

I was just finishing medical school in 1980. For four years I have been reading advertisements that Rolex took out in Time magazine on a weekly basis. I wanted one so bad but obviously my negative net worth made it impossible. Upon graduation my wife surprised me with this DJ . Everything is original including the dale which has become a tropical. It has a plastic crystal. And there’s enough stretch in that bracelet to go around the fat lady three times
The second one is from 1987. I wanted a new Rolex and I wanted it to be a submariner. For some reason the two-tone version which just came out really saying to me. However this one was offered on a strip which I thought was quite unusual. It would save me a few dollars. Sadly about 20 years ago I sent it into Rolex for servicing and they swapped out the dial in hands which were becoming tropical. It didn’t bother me back then but now I look back and think with this watch would’ve look like. Thanks for looking. Best Tony

I can’t get over the moonshine

 By: ChristianDK : November 2nd, 2019-10:36
Not Normally my thing, but is has a very captivating “something” about it. Very cool Flightmaster. It is really a special and interesting design that I like a lot.

Thank yiu so much Christian! I’m not deep into...

 By: Subexplorer : November 2nd, 2019-20:19
... gold watches myself. But this Moonshine edition was really something!! It didn’t let me sleep till I was assured that one was asigned to me. The Flightmaster is truly a cool watch. I feel collectors still don’t pay this model the attention it deserves...

Great stories to go with great watches.

And especially your collaboration with that Bond villain!

most of my watches have a long germination period

Hi Andreas...

 By: Cpt Scarlet : November 1st, 2019-13:32
Your Lange looks superb, it’s a strong look on the bracelet and seldom seen on WristScan. Thanks for joining us this weekend.

Superb watch Andreas! That wonderful dial adds charm to this beautiful timepiece. A long chase and hunting adds fuel to our desire and joy to the catch. Great Hunt!

 By: Subexplorer : November 1st, 2019-13:56
This watch is well worth the wait and I´m sure you are enjoying and loving so much. All the best, Abel.

Hi JML!! I share your thought that some times it is ...

 By: Subexplorer : November 3rd, 2019-04:06
... the watch that chooses us !! They just wait for the guy they wish to belong. In any case hunting and collecting require a big dose of waiting, patience and perseverance to find and catch our trophies. Beautiful watch! Hagwe my friend! Abel

I must've told the story of my decade-long hunt for a 910 Flightmaster . . .

 By: Dr No : November 1st, 2019-20:00
. . . half a dozen times by now. The short version is: found on Craigslist early one January morning three years ago, and acquired three days later . . . . . . after meeting the original owner in a bank lobby. Four hundred miles away in Glendale, Arizona ...

If the kids give me some spare time I also need to share my Art Seiko story 😊

 By: KMII : November 2nd, 2019-01:30
The Flightmaster story is so you, Art 👍🏻 Btw. if you happen to spot another Flightmaster... 🤞🏻

Amazing Flight Masters

 By: ChristianDK : November 2nd, 2019-11:06
I especially love the colors in the design. Almost a modernist painting. A very cool piece for the knowledgeable collector 👌

The Flightmaster is, in a sense, the paradigm of watchmaking . . .

 By: Dr No : November 2nd, 2019-11:12
. . . for its era. There's really nothing like it from its place and time during the late '60s. Art

Yes - I really appreciate the point you make

it was more waiting than hunting for me when this daytona finally came, i even had both black and white dials to choose from. those were the days... as for the James Cameron DSSD, i expected a bit of a wait from my AD, but it came within a week of asking ...
