Hello dear KM!! Very interesting theme for this week end!! Stealthy watches make for an important part of my collection and my enjoyment of wearing watches...

Nov 09, 2018,07:00 AM

... as the securitity in the streets of my City makes wearing easy to spot watches like Rolex or other high end popular brands a very risky matter.

A stealthy watch means in my book a timepiece which brings me a lot of satisfaction when I view it on my wrist, but not being an attraction to third persons and without a very high price tag if possible.

Here a few timepieces which could fill these requeriments and which I really love so much.

Have a nice week end dear KM and all our dear friends here at PuristS!

Cheers! Abel

My Stealthy watches for this week end:

IWC Ingenieur vintage, reference 666AD circa 1962

Forum chrono Zenith P-15/CP2

Zenith El Primero Original 1969 tribute to A386 (38 mm case)

Grand Seiko SGBS 021 GMT High Beat Limited Edition of 500 pieces.

 By: KMII : November 8th, 2018-11:02
As announced yesterday, the topic will be ‘Stealthiest watch you own’, however you choose to interpret it. A watch with under appreciated tremendous value, a watch that no one but the most knowledgeable will recognise on the street, a watch looking like i...

Very cool COS!

 By: KMII : November 8th, 2018-15:43
Love the minimalism of the crown operated chrono here and the colour scheme is sublime Very stealthy for sure!

I think a lot of my watches are ,, stealth,,

 By: Watchonthewrists : November 8th, 2018-13:33
Outside this forum and IG i think 99% dont know what i wear on my wrist most of the days ( just the way i like it 😉) The most stealth watch in my collection is my Urwerk i think But my Staudt will also qualify i guess ! ...

Two superb choices, Watchonthewrist!

 By: KMII : November 8th, 2018-15:47
The Urwerk is a very F-117 choice and the Staudt definitely flies right under every radar, too Have a great weekend!

Thanks 🤗 [nt]

 By: Watchonthewrists : November 9th, 2018-21:50

In many ways even stealthier than the steel one...

 By: KMII : November 8th, 2018-15:45
Superb GS you have here! Not seen much of the ‘new’ GS Specials yet, so if you have some time for a couple of more pictures and an impression from the owners perspective that would be great!

There are none so blind as those who will not see

 By: Uncle Chico : November 8th, 2018-11:31
I've worn this with short sleeves which I usually do not do with my watches. So far no one is the wiser. ...

Fantastic Cellini, UncleChico!

 By: KMII : November 8th, 2018-15:49
It’s quite an achievement for a Rolex to be stealthy but this one is most certainly it

Fine Rolex, Chico. [nt]

 By: amanico : November 8th, 2018-15:59

As many sharp angles as a Night Hawk!

A perfect specimen, Nico!

 By: KMII : November 8th, 2018-15:51
And a superb specimen of stealth, even if there’s not a single sharp edge in sight Well played!

Not necessary to have edges to be stealthy...

 By: KMII : November 8th, 2018-16:03
But if you have something I would be very excited to see it

What a crazy JLC, Nico...

 By: Brandon Skinner : November 8th, 2018-16:22
I have never seen anything like that before from the brand.

Agree!! [nt]

 By: Subexplorer : November 9th, 2018-11:25

I have had the pleasure of seeing this JLC live...

 By: KMII : November 8th, 2018-21:44
And it’s an intriguing piece for sure! And you certainly fulfilled my hopes that someone would post a Royal Oak, Nico - in terms of design it fits right into the radar absorbent school of thought, even if it is very recognisable

Game over

 By: Uncle Chico : November 9th, 2018-00:38
That JLC is not only stealth, it looks like it could fly.

Thanks, Uncle. [nt]

 By: amanico : November 9th, 2018-04:43

It might have to ! [nt]

Such a beauty and understated elegance, which is stealthy!

 By: timerider : November 9th, 2018-15:24
Let's see what cryptic piece I might have to make it through the stealth radar. a watch for a stealthy night with a great alarm (so I can have a little rest). Best to you all, Tim ...

A PAM with an alarm is certainly not something one expects - a great choice!

 By: KMII : November 10th, 2018-11:34
Very cool piece. Which movement does it use?

Or perhaps this one - so stealthy it's almost impossible to see the hands!

 By: Timeout : November 8th, 2018-12:00
........ or the two movements. ...

Black is stealthy [nt]

 By: brauner : November 8th, 2018-15:05

The second great choice, Timeout!

 By: KMII : November 8th, 2018-15:53
In addition to the looks it’s especially the fact that there are two movements inside that make it qualify

Smartly played! [nt]

 By: amanico : November 10th, 2018-03:30

Now that’s stealthy ! [nt]

 By: Cpt Scarlet : November 10th, 2018-11:24

Thanks!

Truth be told, I am a terrible photographer, but I can find my way around Photoshop. Once I actually get a decent photo, I try to make the best of it.

Inspired by your stealth fighter post yesterday, I'll share my "Sea Shadow" Overseas chronometer. As you know, the Overseas line was inspired by nautical travel, with an image of the Amerigo Vespucci sailing vessel engraved on the back. This one, with cus...

This is definitely a great contender!

 By: KMII : November 8th, 2018-15:58
Love how your Overseas fits the theme, combining both the colour and sharp angles of the case - well played!

Two excellent choices, Quan!

 By: KMII : November 8th, 2018-16:00
Depending on the country the car choice is even stealthier than the Richard Lange!

Thank you

 By: Quan : November 8th, 2018-19:04
You are right, down here not that many people aware of A. Lange

Agree....timeless [nt]

Superb choice, Jporos. The packaging, the design, the hidden complications...

I knew an MIH would show up on this thread

 By: Brandon Skinner : November 8th, 2018-16:26
One of the all time coolest, and stealthiest complicated watches. I hope to have one someday

You’re absolutely right!

A very much below the radar piece

 By: halkcb : November 8th, 2018-18:17
my one and only simple credor And one which would be anonymoius except for its bezel very discreet best HAGWE henry ...

Two very interesting choices, Henry!

 By: KMII : November 8th, 2018-21:37
In terms of stealth the Credor is a natural winner I wouldn’t have expected the Cartier but maybe that’s exactly what makes it qualify - crept right up on us

Very nice Seiko [nt]

 By: Quan : November 8th, 2018-19:01

You can’t get more stealth than this...

Cazalea ...

Now that’s an unexpected yet superb choice, Mike!

Absolutely correct, Mr Moderator!

Yes, Thx ! .. Of course I would really like to.. It’s just to check &/or postpone some commitments after my return for that month..

 By: KMII : November 9th, 2018-02:40
Be it the supremely stealthy MIH, the Crosshairs, the Memovox or the Doppel Felix - all are likely to either fly under the radar or at the very least not reflect a clear signal back - really well played! Have a great time in SA!

Likewise, HS :)

 By: KMII : November 9th, 2018-05:41
Been too long since the last live meeting - something we should recfity upon your return!

With pleasure !.. Let’s see whether we three again come up with something..

Simple. Elegant. Stealth.

 By: crown comfort : November 9th, 2018-02:00
How about, something simple, yet elegant that fits nicely under the cuff and can easily go stealth. Like the Girard-Perregaux 2532 manual wind tank from the early 90s. CC ...

A fantastic choice, CC!

 By: KMII : November 9th, 2018-02:37
Wasn't aware of the 2532 and it looks highly appealing - just the right size for a rectangular watch, too! Is the case back curved?

Very cool!

 By: KMII : November 9th, 2018-02:52
A feature that makes many GP watches extremely comfortable to wear

Does this stealthy mystery watch count here?

 By: chippyfly : November 9th, 2018-02:07
I have no idea who manufactured this inherited watch and the case is a 1960 Dutch 2½ guilder coin. Best Clive ...

Certainly does!

 By: KMII : November 9th, 2018-02:35
I hope one of our Dutch mmbers might have an idea of who the maker was. Very interesting piece for sure - thanks for sharing it!

Zenith El Primero cal 40.0 in disguise

An excellent disguise it is, too!

 By: KMII : November 9th, 2018-02:53
Helping to maintain the ElPrimero in production long enough for the the market to pick up again - great choice!

Well played

 By: traineract : November 9th, 2018-07:14

Shape wise it's reflecting radar energy quite nicely :)

 By: KMII : November 9th, 2018-06:45
And colour wise it could be called stealthy, too IMHO that definitely qualifies it as one...

A stealth bomber kind of choice

I was awaiting one :)

This one certainly delivers on all counts, Brauner - excellent choice!

My submission for stealth watch

Now this is stealthy as well as educational, Clive :)

 By: KMII : November 9th, 2018-08:26
To be honest, I am not sure I knew the model existed in the first place but it's nice to get all the additional details with it, too Thanks for that!

Sequel

 By: chippyfly : November 10th, 2018-03:28
My Longines and I survived walking through Oxford last night and the Sheldonian concert was great. Sadly two members of the approximately 500 audience collapsed with sudden illness and were carried away. No news of their recovery. Clive

Too bad...

 By: KMII : November 10th, 2018-11:43
I hope they recover quickly! It seems your Longines has passed the stealth trials with aplomb, though

Beautiful Longines ! [nt]

The almost monochrome finish certainly adding to its stealth, even if not universally improving legibility. Cool choice

Stealth...? Maybe something like this....

Hi All A couple of watches that slide under the radar Reverso Duo - think I've only ever had one comment about it & that was from someone who's father was a jeweller. The other one dips below radar as it's vintage A Lanco Fon also dips under the radar as ...

The Duo is a classic...

 By: KMII : November 9th, 2018-21:17
But certainly looks stealthy from this side The Lanco Fons are quite an interesting alarm pairing!

As I said the other day...

 By: Boris : November 9th, 2018-18:53
It's precisely its stealth that made it a commercial failure when it came out. ...

Great entry, Boris...

I guess most vintage watches possess a certain element of stealth to the uninitiated and GS - vintage or modern does so by definition. Nice shots!

Thanks KMII :) [nt]
