Hello dear Friends!! Here is my veredict for the WOTW Category...

Sep 13, 2020,08:45 AM

... which was a very hard decision to make I confess.

Not only there were many many watches which deserved the title but also the many great entries received gave me (and I hope all our members) a lot of things to think about the meaning of "humble" when related to watches.

Indeed "humble watches" has a relative meaning for each of us. Is it a low price? An unknown brand? a low price in comparison with other important pieces residing in a particular collection? In any case it was demonstrated that whichever the reasons each of us considered the pieces shared here as "humble" they still give us much pleasure and joy to own and to wear them.

Many of them are connected with fond memories or curious stories which make them so special and very worth the space they occupy in our watch box. Many of them are charming watches with awesome dials and many of them made me think: "Wow! I wish I could find one like this for my collection!!"

So many watches moved me to think that phrase that I decided to award the following watches with the "I wish I had one like this Special Mention":

NT 931 and his Tissot time only

PoyFR and his Modelle Unique /Marseille chrono

Nicolas and his Longines time only

Mike/Cazalea and his Square Vulcan Cricket

BigAppleBill and his Sears (by Heuer) dive watch

HalkCB and his Ebel World Time

Pongster and his Sandoz White dial diver

Bobbe and his G.P. from his Grandfather

Capt. Scarlet and his Moonraker Swatch

KMII and his Big 0 Raketa

Art/Dr. No and his vintage Omega ref 2667

And now the winners of the "Humble WOTW" categoriy are:

Fourth place PSF Paris and his superb Lusina chrono

Third place for Ludi and his Russian Sekonda chrono :

Second place for Watchonthewrist and his charming Arab numbers Seiko 5:

First Place for Penfriend and his Vulcan Cricket Heritage special edition of 30 pieces in original silver case with a very interesting story behind.

A big thanks to all participants for making another enjoyable and fun edition of WS and Thanks a lot to Captain Scarlet and Art/Dr. No for their valuable kind help with judging!!

Have a nice week ahead friends!
Stay Safe!
Abel
