Hello dear friend HS! As usual you share a great selection of watches from your superb collection. And of course I discover some pieces which we share the love for. Yes, yes, I know...

Sep 09, 2023,20:52 PM

... I know: we are Horological Twins!! Lol!

Panerai Bronzo, Patek Aquanaut, DSA US version, Zenith chrono for Purists, Milgauss and Pepsi ceramic GMT. How not to love them!!

Well, then there are some watches you share today that  I love so much but regrettably I don´t own like the 5712 Nautilus: an extraordinary timepiece. And I was mesmerized by your 5172 chrono which I didn´t remember you owned.

Is it a new addition to your stable? I can easily understand is your favorite Summer chrono.

You share in some beautiful shots which are always a pleasure to view dear friend.

Keep enjoying your timepieces so much dear HS and have a nice weekend.

Cheers, Abel.

The WS for the 8th of September - ‘Sports favorite’ - is live

 By: KMII : September 8th, 2023-11:22
Given that sports watches are the flavor of the decade (and possibly longer) - thanks @Captain for pointing this out - let’s see some of your favorite pieces. Whether the shots involve sports or not very much depends on you. Looking forward to seeing your...

And here some of mine for a start

 By: KMII : September 8th, 2023-11:26
As I don’t do that much sports seeing action shots would be hard 😉 But I possibly have the only G-Shock on a leather strap to compensate 😁 ...

The only sports watch in my collection . . .

 By: Dr No : September 9th, 2023-21:26
. . . will never get to do what it's designed for. No never swims, much less dives. Bad memories, and all that. 🤿 ...

So no shots of you…

 By: KMII : September 10th, 2023-04:39
Emerging from the waves like David Hasselhoff? 😁

Funny you mention David Hasselhoff. I sat next to him and his wife at a Stones concert . . .

 By: Dr No : September 10th, 2023-07:52
. . . in Vegas. Seemed like a regular guy; left during Keith Richard's two-song set in the middle of the show to get a couple of beers. Didn't strike up a conversation, though.

Is your German rusty? 😁

 By: KMII : September 10th, 2023-15:38
I believe he was much more of a thing in the German speaking world 😉

My German is as rusty . . .

 By: Dr No : September 10th, 2023-16:06
. . . as David's jacket . . . . . . is loud. 🇩🇪

That´s awesome!

Also a few seats away from Morgan Fairchild . . .

 By: Dr No : September 11th, 2023-00:16
[MF 1989] . . . at a Stones concert back in '89, and maybe ten seats away from Madonna and Sean Penn at a Pretenders show . . . [SP & M, 1987] . . . in '87. Not to mention right next to Burt Bacharach . . . [BB & CBS, 1984] . . . and Carol Bayer S...

A thrilling clip from that first Bond movie dear Art. You share your stunning recent addition to your collection and mention it´s your only sports watch. But guess you have at least two...

... more considering the two great Speedmasters (vintage and new 321) in your collection. Speedmaster is an iconic chrono for car racing pilots after all. Enjoy your Ultra Deep and Speedys so much dear Art! Cheers, Abel

I guess Speedies could be considered sports watches in a broader sense . . .

 By: Dr No : September 11th, 2023-00:05
. . . but they're more akin to tool watches in my perspective, Abel. That's why I left them out. In the distant past there was an Overseas . . . . . . in my collection. I would consider that to be a sports watch. Best, Art ...

Ahh ok Art. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts

 By: Subexplorer : September 11th, 2023-01:08
Interesting to read your view. Best Abel

Forgot about this one! . . .

 By: Dr No : September 11th, 2023-02:40
. . . yes, the Great White - a gift from a friend, recently received, and currently at my watchmaker's for its first service. It's not NOS, but close; my friend wore it only a few times since acquiring it twenty years ago. Art ...

That´s a beautiful gift dear Art. Very nice! It has the added value of being a present from a good friend. That makes it priceless.

 By: Subexplorer : September 11th, 2023-13:11

A lovely Overseas there 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

 By: KMII : September 12th, 2023-04:24
Wasn’t aware of that one, Art. Did it finally not bond with you?

It's a sad story, K. The Overseas was a prize won in a contest . . .

For many years the Monaco (in any iteration) was the absolute dream piece for me. Then I cannot say why, when I could easily afford it the fascination never translated into me getting one 🤷🏻‍♂️ Great, signature piece 🙌🏻👌🏻👏🏻

Thank you so much for your kind answer dear Captain. Interesting what you mention as though I have noticed the trend towards the wearing of sports watches I had no idea of when it started.

Thank you for your clarification about the Doxa photograph. Scubapro makes top quality equipment. Here in my Country it was the brand of choice of our Navy divers since the late 1960's. Have a nice Sunday my dear friend. Abel

Sport’s Favourite! Great theme KM.

It was was actually a bit of fun aimed at my fellow rowers as they all have fancy fitness/heart monitoring smart watches and they’re constantly checking on the go. I’m the only one without one. Have a great week.

Good move!
