Certanlly this model is a great watch. I prefer the no-date version, but the date version is awesome too.
The military connection is no a problem. In my case, I like thinking that this watch was really a true toolwatch, had a "hard" life, make the job for it was created.
Like you say, the Seamaster 300 is stunning too, I´d like to add a nice one into my collection. Let´s see if one day I have luck.
And the Nico´s TR is a serious add into a collection, you´d be a lucky man if you add it into collection.
