Gentlemen, press your shutters, July 16-18 WristScan is underway

Jul 16, 2021,10:51 AM

We are looking for images of a watch where the time is shown using BOTH digital and analog displays, on one or more dials; movements can be mechanical, quartz or a combination. See the preceeding posts here for examples of these analog (hands) and digital (jumping/changing numerals).

We have some new Judges this week, enthusiastically waiting for your entries!

Alfaleh= WRIST (watches shown on an real live arm)

Eklektic= STATIC (watches with props, no wrist)

and Echi= WATCH OF THE WEEK (wild card pick, chosen from them all)

Let's have some fun with this!

Here go a couple of hybrid dive watches, with great stories to tell from a great friend of mine who's both an amazing diver and naturalist. While the watches aren't, the photographs are mine. Hope you'll like them. Really interesting theme, thanks Cazalea...

Wow! I'm speechless

Retro hand mechanisms are fragile too

At least I felt that way on my Gerber watch — I was never quite sure that it would make that return journey.

Very nice

The Citizen Aqualand takes me back just looking at one. I also had one and it was a superb watch for diving. Many happy memories ! The X-33 Skywalker with its titanium case and bracelet is my favourite “technical” watch. Have a great weekend !

Thank you so much for your comments dear Captain!

 By: Subexplorer : July 17th, 2021-12:57
I join you in the feelings about the Aqualand. Guess it already is a classic among diving watches. I expect to give much wrist time to my X33 soon! Have a nice weekend too my friend! Thank you for your good wishes! Cheers! Abel

Best regards to you...

The CasiOak has analog hands, and can also be set to display time digitally concurrently, or date. (Modded here to a Rainbow CasiOak!) I'm sure several more Gentas will make their appearance, but this salmon guilloche model remains a firm favourite of min...

Hi Mike and friends... I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. The X-33 Skywalker maybe from a different time and place to the car in this shot, but it’s excellent when you need to time a car lapping a race circuit. The titanium bracelet is very cool but...

Great choices dear Captain! The Casi Oak is a joyful timepiece. Very practical and food looking. The X-33 you know I love it. Look forward to give it much wrist time soon.

I think we get the message, loudly and clearly

 By: cazalea : July 18th, 2021-10:56
this great watch has a C8 Corvette horsepower digital display with a go-cart sized analog power reserve and seconds.

Sad to say I've none in my collection that meets this week's theme, but . . .

 By: Dr No : July 18th, 2021-15:43
. . . there is one on my hard drive . . . . . . taken many years ago at an alphabet soup gang g-t-g that I can't explain. I think, but not sure, that the 'fan' over the dial is actually the rotor. So the view of the dial is variable. Does this one count, ...

I thought about that one too, and decided no; it's the (in)famous Sung Kang Limited Edition PuristsPro Perrelet offset dial driver's watch
