When I found out I won a big court case in 2006, I felt such a surge of euphoria that I immediately left the office to do something I'd never done before: buy a "nice watch." I did no research of any kind, and I knew nothing about watches. The closest watch retailer happened to be an Omega AD, so I went there, and I decided to buy this Connie because I thought it fit better than the other watches in the case, and it wasn't very expensive (this was pre-coaxial). Walking back, I thought it was the most marvelous toy I had ever owned and was in love. The next day I thought: "hmm, I wonder if there are online forums where people compare notes on watches and decide which ones are worth buying?" It wasn't long before I decided to trade the Connie for an Explorer 1. But the Connie is the one that started it all for me, and I still have fond memories of that initial buzz.
