Hunting watches can be difficult but if you have good helpful friends around the world...

 By: crown comfort : January 24th, 2019-07:34
it not only makes it easier, it also provides a special meaning to the watch. It can be anything, a vintage watch you hunted but then appears in Argentina, with a seller only speaking Spanish, no international shipping option or any meaningful way of paym...

Rules are ment to be broken

Is she the oine on the first photo together with your Reverso Rouge ?

The original ☝️

 By: xxn : February 13th, 2019-00:38
The new reverso is an imposter. True reverso tribute is with ‘REVERSO’ logo not JLC & loses art deco appeal with circular sub seconds!

Two watches, same friend. But I will post only one of the two.

 By: amanico : January 24th, 2019-08:21
I was burglarized in January 2011 and I lost 22 watches. among them a superb Lecoultre Deep Sea Alarm, the vintage, the original. Well, some yeas ago, I had one, which was in less good condition than that one. I bought it, my first DSA US, from a well kno...

My story from Omega to Rolex is as follows....nothing too adventurous but it proves how customer service is essential.

 By: Rogi : January 24th, 2019-08:41
I was looking at the Omega James Bond Spectre model before it even came out, I called multiple dealers until I decided to go with one, their promise was that 99.9% chance that I'll obtain one, they had 5 on order and I was number 2 on the list. So I waite...

Interesting how life plays with us like that.

 By: zabreg1 Mr White : January 24th, 2019-09:11
I was expecting another Omega delivery story. But a great twist at the end led you to a path you never imagined.

Timing is everything! :) [nt]

By: blomman Mr Blue : January 24th, 2019-10:42

Everything happens for a reason.

 By: Ares501 - Mr Green : January 24th, 2019-11:24
Excellent choice much much better if you ask me. Cheers D

Great story and great outcome

 By: crown comfort : January 24th, 2019-11:53
I think I heard similar Omega stories before, but the Daytona is a clear winner.

It was a serious test put upon me. [nt]

First of all cool theme bro

 By: Ares501 - Mr Green : January 24th, 2019-09:15
When thinking about your theme I realized that all stories connected to watches are happy stories for me. So I'll stick here with best and last GTG. Best stories are connected to friendship for me and GTGs are just place for it. And in more than 10 years ...

Indeed my friend...indeed!

Haarlem is an innocent 😇 beautiful elegant little city. The darkness must have come from its visitors 😜

I posit it’s definitely from inhabitants.

 By: zabreg1 Mr White : January 24th, 2019-20:20
Most of us arrived whole and left with some sort of emptiness, physical or mental.

How very true dear Abel

 By: Ares501 - Mr Green : January 25th, 2019-08:41
Wearing a nice watch is gift of life per se but when that watch has also deeper meaning... meaning of friendship or love then there is not much more to ask for. Have a great one and best to family. Cheers D

Unfortunately I don't have any dramatic watch stories, so let me just tell a quick tale of sheer luck. In summer 2017, I was window shopping at an Italian AD I'd never visited before...

 By: FabR : January 24th, 2019-09:54
So as I often do, I decided to enter, say hi, and just have a quick chat. They are one of the main ADs in the country, so without carrying much hope, I concluded by asking for the newly-released 5131P. She obviously mentioned a long waiting list and so fo...

The forgotten watch story.

 By: FabR : January 24th, 2019-14:50

No need to be dramatic to be a good story dear Fab!! And the story behind your breathtaking WT Patek is a great story indeed! How nice of this AD to come to help you...

 By: Dr No : January 25th, 2019-08:32
. . . and then owning his watch a quarter-century later has got to be one of the more interesting acquisition stories ever. Hope all's well, Abel! Art

The moment I realized I'd met the original owner . . .

 By: Dr No : January 27th, 2019-05:48
. . . was surreal, and burned in my memory. Can't get over the feeling that particular watch was destined to end up in my possession. Art

You did well my friend [nt]

The following is a [somewhat] true story. It’s set at the Baccarat table at the Wynn Encore Tower in Vegas sometime in late 2014. I’m having a particularly good night and lady luck is smiling on me. I had pretty much cleared out the table and was getting ...

I refer you to this earlier post

One of my stories

 By: Jocke - Bad Santa : January 24th, 2019-11:19
may not be so exciting but I still pull it. I had just placed an order for a Dornblüth watch and set me on the normal pregnancy period of 9 months for delivery. Then there comes a Russian mail with a request if it was not time for me to get a Moser? Of co...

Clearly, the acquisition of „the Karl“ took a long time and comprised some lucky timing: one morning, some years back, I walk into a small watch store to see a watch ....

 By: HSTE : January 24th, 2019-11:48
.... that was on display. In the store, on the table is a tray of 6-8 AP RO 5402. Most of them special (custom dials, white gold case etc.) but one caught my eye immediately: a black, rocked 5402. I asked what it is and the guy said: ah, it’s from Lagerfe...

That's superb story my friend!

 By: Ares501 - Mr Green : January 24th, 2019-12:03
And that is one super cool and special 5402 Cheers D

Patience is a virtue.

Been in the hospital since Wednesday, so a quick, late entry. Decided on the Minerva Pythagore A481. The watch used to belong to another Purist and he brought it along once, to my very first GTG, even if it was just the two of us over coffee 😊 I liked the...

This watch was meant to be!

Hope nothing serious at the hospital! Best Blomman

Thanks Blomman!

 By: KMII : February 2nd, 2019-22:14
Nothing tragic at the hospital but it involved the whole family with slightly different ailments. All home in the meantime 👍🏻

Never too late.

 By: zabreg1 Mr White : January 26th, 2019-02:31
Hope all is well with you. Get out of the hospital soon.

I was actually the least afflicted...

 By: KMII : February 2nd, 2019-22:17
With the whole family being hospitalized. Fortunately all are at home in the meantime (well, I am traveling for work, so unfortunately not home), so all good. Tired and on a tasking schedule but that will pass eventually 😊

That is also true...

 By: KMII : February 2nd, 2019-22:18
Just depends on the definition. With one other Purist it was Adam, as a plural (which as you know starts with three in Slovenia) it was the Zagreb one with you and Zabreg 😊

:));) [nt]

 By: zabreg1 Mr White : January 27th, 2019-02:59
The bonding with your daughteris priceless. Plus, you really can’t say no to them, right? But now you trained her, Pavlov-style.

Yes. Which at first I found endearing.
