The older UG bi-compax chronographs used to be named "Compur".
When in 1936, UG launched the first ever chronograph with a hour register, they named it Compax.
In order to build a particularly complete and coherent chronographs range (unique at the time ?), every chronograph of the range used from that point the word "Compax".
The Bi-Compax chronographs Compur were therefore renamed Uni-Compax
This brochure produced by the Henry Stern Agency in 1947 allows to better understand this chronograph range along with the UG complicated watches (the calendar watches)
