WristScan for the 6th of July - Travel Time - starts now!

 By: KMII : July 5th, 2018-09:31
As mentioned in the earlier thread, this week’s WS theme is Travel Time. So any kind of watch you regularly travel with, for work, for fun... Be it a world timer, GMT, diver or elegant two hand dress piece. So let’s see what one will be able to see at the...

Only one legit travel watch in my collection . . .

 By: Dr No : July 5th, 2018-10:52
. . . but not much of a traveler. Unless there's a Purists gathering or a Stones show, of course - then I'm all in! Art ...

Now that’s a truly fantastic one!

 By: KMII : July 5th, 2018-11:22
Definitely an Omega high on my to get list. Any watch with a DC-8 on the back is cool

You knew . . .

 By: Dr No : July 5th, 2018-13:53
. . . this was coming. Btw, 170K? The party starts now ;-) . . .

But I like it ! [nt]

 By: Cpt Scarlet : July 6th, 2018-14:45

Truly obscure trivia: . . .

 By: Dr No : July 7th, 2018-17:36
. . . It's Only Rock 'n Roll (but I like it) is the only Stones studio track that Charlie doesn't play on. Kenny Jones handled percussion. Stoned, Art

I like obscure misic trivia....

 By: Cpt Scarlet : July 9th, 2018-01:52
Any more ?

A good portion of . . .

 By: Dr No : July 9th, 2018-10:32
. . . Exile on Main Street has never been performed live by the Stones. Soul Survivor , Casino Boogie , and most depressingly, I Just Want to See His Face , have never been performed on stage. Mick Taylor had a hand in all of them, so it's not likely they...

Ok, here we are...

 By: amanico : July 5th, 2018-11:03
Rolex GMT MASTERS: Patek World Time 5110P: Ulysse Nardin Sonata, yes, yes, it is also a GMT watch! And now, in my dreams: Jaeger Lecoultre Duometre UTT: Or / and Geophysic Universal Time: Girard Perregaux WW TC: Audemars Piguet Metropolis: Well... The lis...

Wow!

 By: KMII : July 5th, 2018-11:24
Didn’t know you owned a platinum Metropolis - truly thoroughly superb! Not that any of the others are anything than great Happy travels!

You know!

 By: TheMadDruid : July 5th, 2018-11:51
Just unfair. You're trying to beat Joe before he even doesn't enter. Put those watches back in the box!

Yep! [nt]

 By: amanico : July 6th, 2018-09:00

Amazing collection of travel watches

 By: Watchonthewrists : July 5th, 2018-13:00
👌🏻

Mmm - the PP, JLC & GP - great travel watches!

 By: nomadgiles : July 6th, 2018-11:33
Cheers, Giled.

Ahh Nicolas! A Superb post! A fabulous way of celebrating your 170K record my friend! Congrats!...

 By: Subexplorer : July 6th, 2018-13:41
... I knew these superb watches were coming from you! All in fabulous pictures!! No doubt are some winners here!! All inspiring shots! Hagwe my dear friend! Abrazos desde las Pampas! Abel

Don’t shoot me

 By: Geo : July 5th, 2018-11:38
This is probably my worst entry ever. But it’s true, when I travel, this Apple ‘Wrist Device’, is what I am wearing and my watch is in my bag. I find it very usable and fun to use, it even hold my boarding cards. Have a great weekend gents and don’t kick ...

No watches on your other wrist, either?

 By: KMII : July 5th, 2018-22:38
Can certainly understand the practicality aspect, plus it makes one less conspicuous, too

Your Seiko is such a fine watch.

 By: TheMadDruid : July 5th, 2018-11:52
I love that dial. And that's a pretty cool MB. Hadn't seen it before.

Thanks a lot, Padj!

 By: KMII : July 5th, 2018-22:39
It is indeed - was my grail GS, and the love is certainly not diminished since I got it

My 5230.

 By: TheMadDruid : July 5th, 2018-12:45
Works well on trains, planes and mules. ...

Oui, Monsieur. [nt]

 By: TheMadDruid : July 5th, 2018-12:52

Great!!! [nt]

 By: amanico : July 5th, 2018-12:57

Where’s the mule picture?

 By: KMII : July 5th, 2018-22:40
The watch is great, as are the Swedish stones but what I really want to see is the watch worn on top of a mule

I was sorta guessing it would be great on a mule.

 By: TheMadDruid : July 6th, 2018-03:30
Keep this to yourself.

Then, it was you, my dear Padj

 By: ninolitaliano : July 6th, 2018-11:16
with your béhème ...

That IS the car I drive.

 By: TheMadDruid : July 6th, 2018-12:23
20Mulepower.

Active tourer and hybrid [nt]

 By: ninolitaliano : July 6th, 2018-12:42

Lol! [nt]

 By: Subexplorer : July 8th, 2018-06:31

I wasn't actually looking for a mule.

 By: TheMadDruid : July 6th, 2018-05:44
But if I was then your mule would do just fine.

This is almost an instant win in the static category :)

 By: KMII : July 6th, 2018-08:15
And an honorable mention for finding it

Very nice Padj! But instead of a Mule maybe you where....

 By: nomadgiles : July 6th, 2018-11:30
....thinking of an Ass? 😉

Hmm.

 By: TheMadDruid : July 7th, 2018-04:25
Nope. A mule.

Wow dear Padj! What a beauty! PP makes the best WT watches! This beauty you show is an ideal travel watch for sure! No matter...

 By: Subexplorer : July 8th, 2018-06:26
... How you travel: plane, train, car... Or mule! Enjoy it so much my friend and Hagwe! Abel

:-))) [nt]

 By: TheMadDruid : July 8th, 2018-06:44

:)) [nt]

 By: Subexplorer : July 9th, 2018-10:39

Well.. Let me see, how to play this week..

 By: hs111 : July 5th, 2018-12:50
Ok, so here are some few: GP GMT, Gde Date, Moonphase - a great cool companion The Reverso GMT is a versatile choice I often take with me.. JLC Geophysic Universal Time - a superb World Time but almost a bit too fancy.. & this one just is a real GADA ...

A super-fine collection.

 By: TheMadDruid : July 5th, 2018-12:53
An nice photomontage as well.

Superb travel collection, HS111!

 By: KMII : July 5th, 2018-22:42
And great pictures of it too. Cannot agree more on the GADA nature of the ABR, too.

Thanks a lot, HS!

 By: KMII : July 6th, 2018-08:37
Holidays just about to begin tomorrow and both my wife and I really need them

Not seen that GP GMT before - very nice!

 By: nomadgiles : July 6th, 2018-11:26
And both JLC’s are top travel watches too. Best, Giles.

Great post dear friend HS! The only problem with your selection of travel watches is...

 By: Subexplorer : July 8th, 2018-06:34
... How you do to chose just one of them to wear on the wrist when you actually go traveling! Any of them is most suitable and attractive. A tough choice to make... Unless you take a watch roll with you! Lol! Have a beautiful week end my friend! Abel

Thx for kind looking, dear Abel !.. Well, in fact normally I always take 3-4 watches with me !

 By: hs111 : July 8th, 2018-09:14
.. Only when it’s just 1 day, just One gets the nod : Mostly the Batman Rolex GMT, or the GP Gde Date, GMT, Moonphase. Best, hs

Always my pleasure to view your posts my dear friend! All the watches you mention make fantastic travel watches. And carrying several is the most...

 By: Subexplorer : July 9th, 2018-10:58
... Enjoyable solution to the dilemma of which to wear ina trip. Keep enjoying my friend! All the best! Abel

Owning only a single Travel Time watch...

 By: saso : July 5th, 2018-14:30
.. but I also kinda need only one as it can dress down or up (not as good though), can handle every kind of weather fairly well and can keep time quite accurately. So no surprise that that my trusty 5164A did a good job during a leisure trip throughout Ja...

Great shot! [nt]

 By: amanico : July 5th, 2018-14:58

Fantastic shot!

 By: KMII : July 5th, 2018-22:44
Really like the composition with the ‚travel’ background

Two in a row.

 By: TheMadDruid : July 5th, 2018-16:17
Yankees? ;-)

Aha!

 By: TheMadDruid : July 6th, 2018-03:31
I assumed it was the Angels or Dodgers. Ain't you from out that way?

Second one in a row...

 By: KMII : July 5th, 2018-22:45
But then again it would make for a fine travel companion, so no surprises here Great baseball game shot, too!

Could well be...

 By: KMII : July 6th, 2018-22:00
Yet also very practical at the same time

...and? [nt]

 By: TheMadDruid : July 5th, 2018-16:42

On travels and phone / WiFi playing up!

 By: nomadgiles : July 5th, 2018-17:09
I will try again!

“Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer”

 By: nomadgiles : July 5th, 2018-17:35
1 old and 1 new travel watch, plus a few that came along for the ride.... Favourite ferry journey to.... Maroc: Karnataka: Paris: Memories du Mali: Today from the beach: This one still has some traveling to do.... And those that came along for the ride......

All I can say is wow!

 By: KMII : July 5th, 2018-22:48
The collection of shots is simply amazing, Giles

Very true, my friend.

 By: nomadgiles : July 6th, 2018-01:25
I also like this “Traveling – it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller.” By Ibn Battuta - a 15C traveller from Tangier. Worth checking out esp a travelogue by a more modern follower in his footsteps ‘Travels with a Tangerine’ Cheers, Gi...

Long been on my to read list...

 By: KMII : July 6th, 2018-02:20
Definitely want to read it soon

Spectacular travelogue.

 By: TheMadDruid : July 6th, 2018-03:36
You know, there's something about that first Zodiac that seems so appropriate for traveling in Afrique. It has an aura about it, and it looked perfect in your Morocco shots. To me it was made for that trip; that or for doing naughty things in the Bay Area...

👍🏻😊 [nt]

 By: KMII : July 8th, 2018-11:47

All but Maroc in last 15 months,

 By: nomadgiles : July 7th, 2018-17:01
but did 2 visits there in 2016 so due another soon - it’s one of my favourite countries. There’s also been work in Frankfurt, Hamburg, Amsterdam, Nantes & Dublin plus London trips every month, sometimes twice - always some pleasures involved too ;-)

Wow wow wow Giles! Absolutely agree with your sayings and what a photographic parade you posted here! Awesome!

 By: Subexplorer : July 8th, 2018-06:44
Nice to have so many options to have on the wrist when traveling! Tough choice to make if faced with selecting just one of them! Hagwe my friend! Abel

Thank you dear Abel! I think the GMT is the most travelled and therefore the one that brings me sweet memories

 By: nomadgiles : July 8th, 2018-11:27
but some of the others are catching up for sure 😉. All the best, Giles.

Oh yes :) [nt]

 By: KMII : July 6th, 2018-02:20

I now have many travel watches with many..

 By: KC74 : July 5th, 2018-17:59
..preset timezones. This is one of them. Fresh from the oven, received yesterday. A cool GW5035A. I know I have seen it with one of our purist members 😋 Cheers ...

Certainly a very cool travel companion...

Too addictive..

 By: KC74 : July 6th, 2018-03:42
3 models arrived on the same day. Sunday morning I will pick up another. 3 screwcaseback altogether. 😬 Good weekend to you KMII and all. 👍🏻

Find it difficult to find any interesting G-Shocks here...

 By: KMII : July 6th, 2018-08:17
Feeling like it’s time to get one

I have been collecting only the squares..

 By: KC74 : July 6th, 2018-18:42
More purist and classic like their first model released in 1983. Try this maybe? DW5035D 35th anniversary, just released few months ago. ...

Would love to...

 By: KMII : July 6th, 2018-21:51
But I cannot find it. Or do you bypass the local ADs and get them online?

I'm rocking this one today. :)

 By: fernando : July 6th, 2018-23:54
...

Certainly an indestructible travel watch :)

 By: KMII : July 7th, 2018-01:40

A dual time watch with single "fuseau". Manual wind movement drives both time displays so they are always synchronised for minutes shown. The rose gold version bought in rue de la Paix, Paris and white gold piece from Ginza, Tokyo. Cartier Paris Collectio...

Another classic from Cartier's CPCP.

. . . for traveling, Matt. Even for a guy naturally immune to Rolex's charms like myself . . .

Thanks a lot

 By: MattS : July 8th, 2018-08:04
Rolex GMTs are kind of unique! Matt

Thanks Abel

 By: TheMadDruid : July 6th, 2018-05:47

The beauty of this one...

 By: KMII : July 6th, 2018-08:29
Is that it allows travel on the wrist, even if you stay put. Great shot!

Good choice! [nt]

 By: amanico : July 6th, 2018-09:39

Not actually travelling this weekend.....

 By: Baron - Mr Red : July 6th, 2018-06:40
.......but one from the past. 5650G ...

So you're actually entering.

 By: TheMadDruid : July 6th, 2018-07:07
You better discuss the results with Vlad.

It was a dilemma....

 By: Baron - Mr Red : July 6th, 2018-07:22
Win it vicariously again or actually enter.

I understand.

 By: TheMadDruid : July 6th, 2018-08:11
What you have to go through week to week. Decisions.

The stress of it.... [nt]

 By: Baron - Mr Red : July 6th, 2018-08:53

Wonderful shot, Joe!

 By: KMII : July 6th, 2018-08:32
And I can imagine the 5650G makes for a great travel watch

Thanks K. [nt]

Great shot, Joe. [nt]

 By: amanico : July 6th, 2018-09:40

Two or is it three options

 By: jml_watches : July 6th, 2018-06:58
First two are Reverso Duo - two timezones one for each face, so no confusion 😁 Or of course there's the Seiko five, robust dependable & unlikely to attract any attention Cheers JML ...

These are super cool, JML!

 By: KMII : July 6th, 2018-08:35
And both choices are great for traveling. Have a great weekend!

A fine dilemma! [nt]

 By: TheMadDruid : July 6th, 2018-09:05

My MB&F LM1 is great for travel too

 By: Hororgasm : July 6th, 2018-11:27
The LM1 with dual time timing, is good for travel too....one for home time, and another for local. Easy to set too, and can do half and quarter hours, great for those visiting the Indian sub continent for example. Best, Horo Hororgasm for PPro ...

This is a rare beauty.

 By: TheMadDruid : July 6th, 2018-12:27
I din't think I've seen it here before.

Such a gorgeous travel compagnon 👌🏻😘 [nt]

Okay.

 By: TheMadDruid : July 6th, 2018-16:01
In order: I like the old Leica case; the Leica; the Rolex; the coke sign; the Seiko; and the photographs. But that's it.

Two fantastic choices, Abel!

 By: KMII : July 6th, 2018-21:56
Thanks for your kind words - while I am still thinking of the Montblanc 1858 Geospheres, the GS is being packed for the next journey Two great choices of yours, too! Definitely fully fit for purpose travel wise and looking really cool at the same time

Hello dear KM! Thank you so much for your kind comments! I am happy you like both of my choices! Ah yes the Montblanc is an awesome watch indeed... my friend

Thanks Padj!

It's a Tutima FX UTC. I like that I can track three different timezones with this one watch. Believe it or not, that came in handy!

That’s a cool travel selection!

Seiko World Time, 1964

 By: matthewking : July 8th, 2018-06:08

Both are fantastic, Matt!
