Not everyone’s taste...

... because too bulky / heavy / funky 70’s kind of a watch, and it’s not a mechanical nor a quartz movement but something in between.

Yet I like it very much, go figure ?

WeirdScan from 04.12.- 06.12.: Your acquired taste watch starts now

By: COUNT DE MONET : December 4th, 2020-05:11
Dear friends, this week's round should be a theme that speaks to nearly all of us: show us a piece, that is not to everybody's taste. A piece that is odd, unusual by its shape, size or wierd function. T o give you an example: being 6.2" tall and "big" it ...

Looking for forgiveness ;-( ...

 By: Cpt Scarlet : December 4th, 2020-05:31
Hello dear Count and friends... Can I be redeemed for enjoying the guilty pleasure of a “gold” Seiko ? ... More shocking confessions to come ;-)) ...

Thank you kind Count 🙏

The confessions keep coming ...

 By: Cpt Scarlet : December 4th, 2020-07:16
Size matters ;-o ... I genuinely love this Zenith but it’s like owning a “loud” sports jacket, some people just can’t get their head round it ! The shock factor is always amusing, ;-)) ...

Precisely !

I’m pleased that you like it ...

 By: Cpt Scarlet : December 4th, 2020-14:32
Winding it is a ritual, it feels so mechanical.

Ahh yes I do my dear friend! I can imagine the feeling ...

See No Evil, Hear No Evil is a great comedy !

I was going to post a few clips of Richard's comedy acts . . .

. . . but thought better of it. When Gene Wilder died a few years ago, the obits mentioned his being mostly serious when he wasn't in front of a camera. Hard to believe Pryor was ever serious. ;-)

They made a great double act ...

Thanks Abel & the Count!

Hmm, I might be a bit boring, haha. I guess a Regulator dial and the Combination of Brown dial and blue strap qualifies as oddball. ...

Not an oddball to us but for many people outside this forum.

The UN anniversary has got it all on paper (big date, blue, white metall...), but the execution was quite daring. I am sure in real the quality of the case and dial will be very high and impressive.

I actually like all 3 😂🤣

I also like all three 😁😁😁

These are extraordinary pieces, indeed👍

so my list would be, in order of being my fav 1. Debethune 2. Mbaf 3. Urwerk. Having said that, nothing against urwerk cuz I do like some of their watches and their technical proweres is still amaizng, just not my cup of tea.

All excellent and amazing watches but the RD is def my fav so far with a close call for the funky HM

Wow, this is such a special one! Looks very unique!

Bringing out one of my two Playboy labelled products - a Seiko Hi-Beat palladium coated hand wound piece made for PB in the 1970s The next one doesn't really conform to the guilty pleasure moniker when it comes to the watch but with two small kids around,...

Once more: 70ies pieces 😀
