The WS for the 16th of September - ‘It’s been too long your - the watches that deserve more wrist time’ - is live

 By: KMII : September 16th, 2022-10:49
It looks like in spite of the ‘circumstances’ I will manage to start the WS on time this week 😉 As posted on Wednesday, the theme this weekend is ‘It’s been too long’. We all have watches in our collections that have not seen as much wrist time lately as ...

And here my entry…

 By: KMII : September 16th, 2022-10:56
As mentioned in a response to a post in the announcement thread lately most of my watches have been ‘resting’. We are still in the process of moving and most of the time I do not bring up the energy for a watch change. Horofatigue? Who knows 🤷🏻‍♂️ So here...

How could you 😉…

 By: Cpt Scarlet : September 16th, 2022-11:07
Hello dear KM, good to have you as our host this weekend. These beautiful watches deserve more wrist time and enjoyment with you. I’m feeling the love for a Frank Muller, after all these years and your Vacheron always gets me ! Best regards Captain

I might not be the typical FM wearer…

 By: KMII : September 16th, 2022-11:18
But the combination of the Crazy Hours complication and this subdued execution (in the world of FM, that is 😉) got me 👍🏻

Still got the bold FM style…

 By: KMII : September 17th, 2022-07:03
But I find in this version the retiring me can just about pull it off 😉

Hello my friend, totally understandable you sometimes don’t have the energy to change your watches .

 By: Watchonthewrists : September 16th, 2022-13:42
I think we all have these periods for some reason. Here a few I don’t wear enough and def deserves more wrist time imho Hagwe 🤗 ...

Some real classics there…

 By: KMII : September 16th, 2022-18:17
Whether the DB, the Moser, the CvdK, Staudt or Ming, all are very cool pieces indeed 👌🏻👍🏻

Thanks my friend 🤩

 By: Watchonthewrists : September 17th, 2022-06:49

Hello Watchonthewrist!! You are sharing five superb…

 By: Subexplorer : September 16th, 2022-19:38
… timepieces which are calling for your attention loudly !! They truly deserve a lot of wrist time. Moser dials are awesome too! I wish you’ll enjoy all of them so much my friend!! Hagwe! Abel I’m specially fond of your De Bethune and Christiaan Klaauw. ...

Thanks , they deserve a lot more attention like you said .

 By: Watchonthewrists : September 17th, 2022-06:48
Will do my best to wear them more often 🙏🏻

Thx for the nice selection !.. The Moser & the De Bethune are my personal favs !

 By: hs111 : September 17th, 2022-13:54
Continue to wear all of them in the Best of your health !! Cheers !! 👍🙂

Wow, they definitely all deserve more attention …

 By: Cpt Scarlet : September 18th, 2022-10:01
So many watches and not enough time 🤔

I hope that you are wrong 😑

 By: Cpt Scarlet : September 18th, 2022-19:18

Something i hope to be wrong about 🙏🏻

 By: Watchonthewrists : September 18th, 2022-20:34

It’s certainly one of the more fun complications 👍🏻

 By: KMII : September 16th, 2022-18:17
Definitely enjoy it every time it’s worn - especially since the curved case back makes it quite comfortable, too 👍🏻

Easy to understand that with all those changes of residence…

 By: Subexplorer : September 16th, 2022-15:24
… many of your watches were far from your possibilities of wearing them. I guess you are missing them so much as some of them like your VC are some kind of signature for you. The Crazy Hours FM and Doxa as well! Hope you’ll be able to enjoy them so much v...

Thanks so much Abel!

 By: KMII : September 16th, 2022-18:18
Hopefully you are right. Looking forward to seeing some of yours soon😊👍🏻

🙏🙏👍👍

 By: Subexplorer : September 16th, 2022-19:29

Really a very nice line-up, dear K !.. Always like your terrific VC - elegant, yet still casual as well.. And your 2 Habrings are unusual, especially the Chrono..

 By: hs111 : September 17th, 2022-13:49
.. and finally, also find your somewhat eclectic FM an interesting piece ! HAGWE & Best, 🙂🙂

Thanks so much HS111!

 By: KMII : September 18th, 2022-05:40
They truly all deserve more wrist time - hopefully soon 🤞🏻

Thank you for an interesting topic this week...

 By: R. Goodfellow : September 17th, 2022-22:23
And, beautiful Vacheron! It captures my interest every time you share.

Glad you like it!

 By: KMII : September 18th, 2022-05:41
Definitely a watch I deeply appreciate and that will get more wrist time soon 👍🏻

Hello dear friend KM! Interesting Theme! By some reason or another

 By: Subexplorer : September 16th, 2022-16:16
… I guess most of us own watches which receive little wrist time. In my case and considering the very unsafe status of our streets in my city, Rolex watches are not recommended and also gold watches and Panerais which have to be reserved to be worn in spe...

That DD def deserves more wrist time my friend

 By: Watchonthewrists : September 16th, 2022-18:10
Such a icon imho 👌🏻🤗

Most certainly is 👍🏻

 By: KMII : September 16th, 2022-18:20

🙏🙏🙏

 By: Subexplorer : September 16th, 2022-19:31

Agree with you dear Watchonthewrist!

 By: Subexplorer : September 16th, 2022-19:31
I love this watch so much. Problem here it is a Rolex and Gold! Very unsafe! But I wear sometimes at my office or on special celebrations. Thank you for your kind comments! Hagwe! Abel

Its difficult to enjoy our Crazy hobby nowadays

 By: Watchonthewrists : September 17th, 2022-06:47
I have the same problem, so proud to own some marvels but afraid to wear them in public

Fortunately for you most of your watches would go completely unrecognized by the general public 😉

 By: KMII : September 17th, 2022-07:05
One of the beauties of engaging with independents 👍🏻

👍👍

 By: Subexplorer : September 17th, 2022-13:23

Agree with you dear Watchonthewrist. It’s a shame we can’t…

 By: Subexplorer : September 17th, 2022-13:18
… enjoy them so much. Regret to know that in Italy happens the same. Though I feel the situation is as bad as in my land. Keep being safe and enjoying your great watches anyway! Hagwe Abel

I knew this was going to be a delight!

 By: KMII : September 16th, 2022-18:20
Some true gems here and all deserve wrist time, although I fully understand your safety concerns. The Aquatimer pictures are sublime 👌🏻

Thank you so much dear friend KM for your kind compliments!

 By: Subexplorer : September 16th, 2022-19:34
I’m glad you liked the Aquatimer shots. I feel it is a very photogenic watch, specially due to the three dimensional look of its dial and indexes and its thick case. I like it so much! Best cordial regards Abel

The one with the rope being my absolute favorite of yours this weekend

 By: KMII : September 17th, 2022-07:07
You are probably right - the three dimensionality definitely helps with the visual appeal 👍🏻

Hello, Abel !.. Again, what a nice line-up !.. I liked the Polerouter and the Aquatimer quite a lot - cool shot with the orange rope !

 By: hs111 : September 17th, 2022-10:24
And of course, the golden Rolex is the fancy, glamorous man out ! I can imagine, you might even consider a body guard or at least a very safe, possibly even a private place to wear this one. 😏 But don’t stop considering to take it, even at home maybe to a...

Thank you so much for your always so kind comments dear friend HS!!

 By: Subexplorer : September 17th, 2022-13:22
Yes, we are in a safety status that having a bodyguard is a good consideration though I wish I’ll never need that. My gold watches, specially Rolex and Omega are almost always only worn at home or at our country farm exclusively or in very special occasio...

I used the criteria of anything that hasn’t made it in the past 6 months.

 By: Timeout : September 16th, 2022-21:03
In my defense, some of these are more winter watches. The Zenith has the most uncomfortable clasp of anything I’ve ever seen or worn! I’m just about to get a replacement clasp after a few years of looking. No excuses for the others!! JLC Reverso Grande GM...

That Piaget…

 By: KMII : September 17th, 2022-07:13
Seems your dressier pieces get less wear in summer? The Piaget is my absolute favorite here - a watch I would definitely like to get one day. From your experience prior to the last six months, what’s your experience with it?

Thanks KM.

 By: Timeout : September 17th, 2022-22:57
The Piaget is an interesting watch. Obviously it’s extremely lightweight but the lugs are quite sharp so depending on your wrist size and shape one or more of the corners can be a bit of an irritant (my wrist is just over 17 cm in circumference). In the b...

Thanks for the summary 🙏🏻

 By: KMII : September 18th, 2022-05:43
Will need to try it on, with my wrist size being similar. Love the looks and obviously the thinness 👌🏻👍🏻

All beautiful pieces Timeout!! I had same problem…

 By: Subexplorer : September 17th, 2022-14:09
… with my Zenith deployants and changed straps for others with conventional simple buckles which let me enjoy better those watches. I’m not fond of deployants though I have to admit they are safer than buckles and look more luxurious. I wish you’ll keep e...

Many thanks Abel.

 By: Timeout : September 17th, 2022-23:00
The new deployant is shorter than the one it’s replacing and by all accounts is more comfortable and lies flatter on the wrist. The lack of lugs on the Defy 21 makes aftermarket straps a challenge. I’ll let you know how I make out with the new deployant w...

My pleasure Timeout! Thank you for the clarification!

 By: Subexplorer : September 18th, 2022-03:56
Hope it will work perfect and please you so much! Look forward to your report on this new deployant. Cheers! Abel

Thanks!

 By: Timeout : September 17th, 2022-23:02
The JLC is actually one of my favorites - just that in the rose gold it’s not so much of a summer wear. In the heat an humidity I prefer lighter watches on bracelets if possible.

Hmmhh.. Let me see how to play this week..

 By: hs111 : September 17th, 2022-10:06
Team, 😉 This week I thought to have a glimpse into parts of my watch box of JLC Vintages, mostly Memovoxes as several haven’t got enough Wrist time more lately.. A congenial Lemania Military Monopusher Duo; Yin & Yang Very comfy on the wrist Tg 195 for th...

What gems hide within…

 By: KMII : September 18th, 2022-05:56
The Lemanias, the Memovoxes, the Triple Dates… But that final shot of the LC3072 is simply genius 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

Thx a lot for the kind comments, dear KM !.. Have a great Sunday !

 By: hs111 : September 18th, 2022-07:05
Best to you & yours !! 🙂🙂

Thx for the nice comment & have a great Sun. eve !

Cheers !! 🙂🙂

Great selection HS …

 By: Cpt Scarlet : September 18th, 2022-10:04
The LeMania military watches are a personal favourite and I like your choice of Stingray strap on the LC 3072. Hope you are enjoying your weekend. Best regards Captain

Brings back memories

 By: timerider : September 18th, 2022-19:43
The MMV was so useful in Paris, wore it everyday, no tickets! Thanks for the memories. Timerider

Thx for your kind looking & nice comment !

Cheers !! 🙂🙂

I must confess …

 By: Cpt Scarlet : September 17th, 2022-12:36
Hello dear KM and friends, This theme feels like a confessional ;-). It would be very easy for this post to fill with Rolex and vintage watches, both are sleeping for very different reasons and should be getting more wrist time. The vintage pieces are use...

Hello dear Captain! Absolutely agree with your thoughts about…

 By: Subexplorer : September 17th, 2022-14:21

Some very cool pieces being hidden here…

 By: KMII : September 18th, 2022-06:00
I was wondering after the Zenith and PAM is it a size thing? But then neither the Hublot nor the RD are particularly large 😊 Looking forward to a fresh shot of the RD then 😁👍🏻

And finally …

 By: Cpt Scarlet : September 17th, 2022-12:47
A little story, When our dear host, KM posted the theme I found a watch pouch that was branded Cartier and guess what, to my surprise it wasn’t a Cartier but the Zenith that hasn’t been on my wrist for more than five years ! .. time for service and a chan...

Wow Captain! What a sublime timepiece!!

 By: Subexplorer : September 17th, 2022-14:24
That was a fortunate finding indeed!! This watch surely deserves to be enjoyed more often on your wrist! Five years is a very long time!! Enjoy it so much my dear friend! Cheers! Abel

Thank you Abel…

 By: Cpt Scarlet : September 17th, 2022-14:47
It’s obviously my fault, it was placed in the Cartier Watch pouch after an evening out and then forgotten especially with what has happened over the last couple of years. Hope you are enjoying your weekend.

Easy to understand my dear Captain!

 By: Subexplorer : September 17th, 2022-15:07
I wish you’ll enjoy it so much now. What a superb watch! Have a nice weekend my dear friend. Abel

I was kicking myself 😉

 By: Cpt Scarlet : September 17th, 2022-15:06

Yes, I agree…

 By: Cpt Scarlet : September 18th, 2022-09:32
Thank you for your encouragement.

I imagine that was a pleasant surprise!

The left-hand register is the equation of time?

It certainly was …

 By: Cpt Scarlet : September 18th, 2022-09:49
A mixture of pleasure and shock! Yes, it’s the left hand register.

Well something good has come of the WS this weekend after all 😁

 By: KMII : September 18th, 2022-06:02
Now that’s a truly interesting animal! Any reason for the long hibernation? Apart from having a huge collection, that is?

I think it’s a combination of …

 By: Cpt Scarlet : September 18th, 2022-09:55
Collecting over many years and not selling watches combined with locations and focusing on other watches. The finally, placing it in the incorrect watch case. My error 🤷🏼‍♂️

I can't believe your Zenith technical triumph has sat around . . .

. . . for five years! I had this example not even strapped to my wrist for five seconds and have never forgotten it! ...

OMG 😳 …

 By: Cpt Scarlet : September 18th, 2022-19:11
I’m so pleased that you had the opportunity to try this one.

It was the prototype cased in yellow gold . . .

 By: Dr No : September 18th, 2022-19:55
. . . if memory serves correct, and fitted to my wrist by none other than Jean Frédéric Dufour. ☺️

Wow l, that’s amazing !

 By: Cpt Scarlet : September 18th, 2022-23:27

Dear KM.....where do I start?

 By: S F : September 17th, 2022-16:33
Here are a few last worn in early part of 2020.... For eg., the BP Leman Flyback, replaced the strap in 2020 but have not worn since..... and the Breguet, Moser and VC...... ...

It it more the time for sporty watches for you?

 By: KMII : September 18th, 2022-06:28
I guess it might have been that way for many of us during Corona and home office 🧐 Some really cool pieces there, the Breguet, Moser, BP, VC. Maybe some more strap changes? This usually works for me to ensure watches get more wrist time 😊👍🏻

Occasionally they tell you

Those watches that started us off are definitely deserving of more wrist time!

You know who to get in touch with 😉 But I know what you mean - some watches in spite of our appreciation need more effort to grace our wrists 👍🏻

Always too long..

 By: Mary Anny : September 18th, 2022-06:44
Hopefully, I'll be wearing it in a couple of months! Thanks for hosting this weekend's WristScan KM. ...

A complete old-fashioned, out-of-style piece.

A joy to wear it every once in a while, nonetheless!
