Wrist Scan Theme: Beer . . .

 By: Dr No : February 17th, 2023-10:20
. . . is off and running! Everybody remembers their first sip of beer. Mine was Brew 102, produced in Los Angeles . . . . . . literally off the 101 Freeway on the southern edge of downtown. In fact, the 101's construction was forced to wind around Brew 10...

Great story to open the Event dear Art! It shows you had a similar first experience with beer to the one I had in my first. Lol! It also shows that the new Ultra Deep is not only water proof but also...

 By: Subexplorer : February 17th, 2023-13:13
... "beer proof"!! Guess Omega should take not of this fact to be used in their advertising. Lol! That´s an awesome shot indeed. Beautiful watch you are wearing today. I ´m very fond of the Centenary model. Not only for its beauty but also because it belo...

That’s a great find Abel.

Thank you so much dear Captain. I found this watch several years ago. It was a lucky indeed to find to get it with its original silver case. I would loved to have it with the caseback engraving.

 By: Subexplorer : February 17th, 2023-14:16
Hope our dear Art can confirm that some examples came without the markings. The watch looks like being original polish with almost no wearing from the original owner. Glad you like it! Cheers! Abel

It’s a beautiful vintage Omega …

 By: Cpt Scarlet : February 17th, 2023-14:20
and the silver case is irresistible for a collector.

I well remember your Centenary, Abel. Not sure there are others in our present Omega community . . .

 By: Dr No : February 17th, 2023-17:20
. . . that own one, but there were a few in the distant past. Whenever the question of the most beautiful watch ever conceived arises, my thoughts drift to Omega's ref 2499 and 2500 Centenary models. Art

Thank you so much for your kind comments dear Art.

Good evening Dr No. Excellent theme this week. Here are some memories from my younger self involving beer in various guises. With a Naval port close by and major Army camps 15-20 miles away going out for a beer could quite often be entertaining especially...

Curiously enough, I never drink at home . . .

 By: Dr No : February 18th, 2023-18:05
. . . any more - strictly a social drinker. It's been decades since a six-pack was a regular sight in my fridge. The main reason? Gout. I can only drink a pint or two at a sitting, then have to wait at least a few days before the next sipping session. So ...

I get it. I can only say I don't drink much, but I do drink regularly. LOL

 By: Emil Wojcik : February 19th, 2023-17:56
Actually, since getting the taps, I almost never drink when I'm out to eat anymore, only at home and virtually only with a meal. Most times I'll only have half a glass with either lunch or dinner but even then it's not daily...depends on what I'm eating.

Very cool!
