Rare Industrial Revoluton Automata clock

This clock was made and built as presentation piece to M. C Leclaire in 1887. M. Leclaire was the inventor of the Turbine a Dragee which choclate coated  sugar cube and other edibles.
This is quite heavy with a marble base which contains the spring driven movement to turn the barrel, and very sturdily built, the copper barrel weighs almost 3kg.
The 8 day French movement strikes on a bell and has a platform escapement.

I always thought that was an "age-old" tradition

All the street sellers making their own chocolate coated almonds etc. use such mechanised pots (albeat electrically powered) to this day. Didn't realise there was an inventor. Such a neat piece and great to see it working! Don

I like it!

On this object there is no patent number?

No, there is no patent number on this piece, but then it is a presented clock that represents the turbine, not the actual working Turbine itself which most likely does have patent number on it
