This just in!

I just received this today from a fellow Purist based in Japan, and I am totally over the moon.
The proportions, the details and finishing are incredible.
For the record, I was really eyeing the A.Lange&Sohne 1815 chronograph (in rose gold), which I consider the ultimate dressed, high end chronograph (that movement!). But it didn't fit my wrist exactly right. Something to do with the 39.5mm diameter, combined with the long lugs and protruding caseback. It was OK on my wrist, really, but one does not spend that kind of money for just OK. Needless to say, I was rather deflated because I do love everything about Lange and their philosophy of watchmaking.
Out of curiosity, I visited the Vacheron Constantin boutique right next to the A.L&S one in TST that day. There, I tried the 1955 Chronograph Cornes de Vaches in both rose gold and stainless steel, and was amazed how well it fitted my wrist. A revelation. I was particularly fond of the steel version, which is easier to wear vs. the formality of the rose gold one. Retail price is really (too) steep on this model, especially when you consider what the 1815 Chronograph has to offer. But I was really lucky to find one for sale on the Collector's Market at a good price, and after some quick exchanges with the seller, the watch was on its way.
A big thanks to ND for making this happen, and being such a gentleman. He's got something rather special on the way as well, which explains him parting with this piece. I am sure he will come and share it here when he gets it.
