Sizes of the VC Overseas V1

Mar 20, 2018,22:09 PM

Hi - I'd like to ask the OP and others on the sizes of these watches and variants.

I've seen versions for sale that state they are 42052 but 37mm width. And others that offer the 42052 as 35mm And 42040 as 36mm.

And that the 42042 is the version with 37mm.

It's quite confusing and of course without handling the watches difficult to realise true size.

What are the dimensions of the first image in this post?

I'm search far and wide for this version with arabic military style dial in blue or black. I've tried a non arabic sticks version of this watch 42042 with blue dial and size was 37mm and acceptable to me.

I've also been in touch with Vacheron and they have confirmed that replacement leather straps in black and brown are available for this watch - well, at least they state available for the 37mm version.

Thanks for feedback!

Congrats on finally getting what you’ve yearned for.

Unlike yourself, I prefer the 47040, although there is a version similar to yours that has a full compliment of arabic numerals on the dial, and lumed, which I really like.

Very, very nice!

Thank-you for taking the time to share your Gen 1 OS. I hope you were able to get the original boxes and chronometer certificate. Your enthusiasm led me to realize that I've had six of these beauties pass through my collection over the years (42042/42040/...

I’ve dug around and have more conclusive answers on sizes. 42042 42040 = 37mm 42052 = 35mm Dial of military / numbered edition of the Overseas first addition include lume marker to the right of the date window. 35mm versions do not have this lume marker, ...

Simply in love with VCO 42042. I have been trying to get a good condition piece , it is so difficult and many has no service history.

The confusing parts are 42040 vs 42042. Caliber 1310 or 1311. I couldn’t find any detail of the differences. I noticed some dial with “t Swiss t” and some without.

Congrats
