The coolest Overseas?

 By: mrds : February 20th, 2021-01:25
Inspired by Steiner1975‘s pic of his beautiful silver dialed Dual Time, I feel I need to post about a watch that is still haunting me. It made quite some noise (at least for VC standards) when it floated around the net about a year ago, so you probably ha...

The WT is a great watch

 By: mrds : February 20th, 2021-02:34
Sadly too large for my wrist, so it isn’t even on my radar when I think about the Overseas collection.

You mean this one?

 By: Tyo : February 20th, 2021-02:49
A friend collected one last year. I do like it but I wouldn’t enjoy it more 2 mm thinner and 2 mm smaller . ...

New

 By: Weems@8 : February 20th, 2021-04:50
The WT overseas is new to me. The layout is my cup of tea. You told about the size, it is a big timer. Do you know in your head about the size? I go to 42mm max 38mm min. case thickness not above 20mm. greatz, Weems.

Good news

 By: Weems@8 : February 20th, 2021-06:50
It is the maximum of what i wear. Actually 42mm - 41mm is perfect for my wrist. Many things depends also i know like lug design, case shape, strap/bracelet system, back case form, if you can go bigger or smaller.

Oh! I like your way of thinking!

 By: patrick_y : February 20th, 2021-20:42
Too bad, I would be barred from receiving one due to WatchProSite rules, moderators are not allowed to accept substantial gifts.

But they should give you one!

 By: patrick_y : February 20th, 2021-23:58
When I borrowed the Traditionelle Tourbillon I really didn’t want to give it back. That was a great watch!

LOL, you're not the only one 😉

 By: holdemchamp1225 : February 21st, 2021-09:11

But if you only get one...

 By: patrick_y : February 21st, 2021-13:45
Go for your absolute favorite piece. Maybe a nice minute repeater, or the Traditionelle Tourbillon, or something else that's very special...

Actually my favorite VC I don't own is precisely this WG ultrathin Overseas PC.

 By: mrds : February 21st, 2021-23:49
Or maybe the upcoming 1921, but this remains to be seen.

Alas...

 By: amanico : February 20th, 2021-18:14

I'd settle for just a thin time-only version without the perpetual calendar.

 By: patrick_y : February 20th, 2021-20:43
But they don't seem to make that yet.

Oh, they did

 By: mrds : February 20th, 2021-23:32
The Ref 2000H Pic stolen from the web Should be made just to your taste! ...

Nice!

 By: amanico : February 21st, 2021-00:29

😉🙏👍

 By: holdemchamp1225 : February 21st, 2021-12:39

Then you want the 2000V 😉

 By: holdemchamp1225 : February 21st, 2021-09:07

totally agree lets wait and push for it

 By: Gelato Monster : February 20th, 2021-05:14

There is still hope...

 By: mrds : February 20th, 2021-02:40

I hope they will

 By: mrds : February 20th, 2021-03:14
Thanks for chiming in, Tyo!

It is certainly way up there! That picture is amazing

By: Chronometer (aka yacomino) : February 20th, 2021-03:47

I agree this "Cory Richards" Overseas is super.

 By: M4 : February 20th, 2021-03:50
The other feature that I love is the tantalum ring below the bezel. The darker color of the tantalum against the titanium is way cool. I wonder why VC hasn't commercialized this model with at least a LE run. M4

+1

 By: Gwai : February 20th, 2021-07:02
Cheers Marc

You have to wait ))

 By: serg70 : March 3rd, 2021-14:52
I've been told, there will be regular model and LE inspired by Cory Richards OS. Next year... WBR Serge

I was hoping for 2021....

 By: mrds : March 4th, 2021-04:24
Thanks for posting, serg!

Vacheron amazes me sometimes...

 By: blau : February 20th, 2021-04:09
can you imagine going to all the trouble of making that watch--the perfect outdoorsy version of the Overseas that so many of us want--and then choosing not to sell it??

I‘m also puzzled...

 By: mrds : February 20th, 2021-05:39
but I‘d be surprised if, after all the applause, none of the Cory Richards version will see the light of day. I think even VC marketing can‘t ignore the noise 😁

I hope you're right--

 By: blau : February 20th, 2021-09:43
you know they're doing their best to! Here's hoping they fail.

You are not lying

 By: Weems@8 : February 20th, 2021-04:45
It is also my favorite Overseas. The strap, the two crown/buttons at the left, the dial. If a 222 is an Overseas, that watch i must have. Not an Overseas, this one i want Twin Beat Perpetual Calendar 2,4hz 5hz, 50 days plus pr. And i want a Quai De L’ille...

A very cool Overseas...

although I found that this one fits my wrist the best. One day you will be mine my precious... ...

I can’t blame you for your choice

 By: mrds : February 20th, 2021-06:17
Looks great on your wrist! I cross my fingers for you it will soon be on your wrist. Have a great day!

Completely agree that this is the best!

 By: jleno : February 20th, 2021-06:23
Love the use of tantalum, the combination of dark blue/grey and orange, the fabric strap option. It would be a compelling version of the OS if they produced more. Wish they removed the date wheel, but I'm sure they won't

Thanks, jleno

 By: mrds : February 20th, 2021-07:14
Actually I quite like the date wheel on this version. I appreciate they didn’t go for a date window.

Agreed...super cool piece.

 By: vitalsigns : February 20th, 2021-06:27
In general, the Overseas design seems over-styled to me...just too much Maltese Cross motif throughout, with my main complaint being the bezel; but this special edition of one really seems to work well. I would, however, change the GMT hand so it could di...

I agree

 By: Steiner1975 : February 20th, 2021-06:39
this is the coolest OS. When I first saw it I wanted it so bad until I realized that this was near impossible to obtain. Maybe one day VC will do some kind of re-issue.

Let’s cross our fingers they will release it some day...

 By: mrds : February 20th, 2021-07:18
or at least do something very similar. And thanks for posting your very nice WT a couple days ago. This reminded me of the Cory Richards version in the first place (actually it brought back the pain of not having one 😄)

I agree it looks fantastic and I, too,

 By: Gwai : February 20th, 2021-07:01
have saved a decent number of pictures of it on my phone and computer. Have been very much hoping it will be transformed into a regular release. Cheers Marc

1 👍🏻👍🏻

 By: mrds : February 20th, 2021-07:19
Thanks for posting, Gwai!

The best Overseas ever!

 By: sebks : February 20th, 2021-07:05
I put some funds aside to pay for my RO 15500, hoping for it to arrive in 12 to 24 months according to the AP boutique. The RO is a personal grail but if this VC arrives before... I swear VC will get my money and AP will keep their 15500

Love everything about this version, especially the thicker hands and markers making lume a priority rather than an afterthought

 By: Fastwong : February 20th, 2021-07:58
Color combo, materials (full titanium bracelet finished to VC standards would be EPIC), this is how I like to see "sports" watches.

The thick markers have a big impact

 By: mrds : February 20th, 2021-08:08
on making this version more sporty. Great match to the dial, and must be pretty cool in the dark! Agree on the Ti bracelet, too Thanks for commenting, Fastwong.

Be nice...

 By: mrds : February 20th, 2021-10:00
and ask them to make at least two. Please! 😂

The Overseas lineup is pretty impressive and if this was running line..wow

 By: D-TIME1 : February 20th, 2021-18:15
There are a ton of options and very versatile.. In my opinion would rather have over any AP or PP sports watch.. I cannot wait to add one to my collection but will be a few years!! I am making a trip to the Miami Boutique hopefully in April! -D-

I am a big fan of the Overseas line

 By: mrds : February 20th, 2021-23:16
and I wear my simple three hander very frequently. It’s extremely versatile. What I like about the Cory Richards version is that it takes the sporty-elegant axis of the Overseas to rugged-sporty-elegant. To me it looks like Mick Jagger in a tux!

Get ready....

 By: mrds : February 21st, 2021-10:41
From the dark side of the web 😎 ...

😳🙈🙉🙊

 By: holdemchamp1225 : February 21st, 2021-11:03

You put it very well, Echi

 By: mrds : February 20th, 2021-23:05
and I think it fits perfectly to VC. They do have an adventurous side and don‘t always stick to established categories.
