Thomas, in a thread below, says, "It is one of the very strange ironies of this hobby that watches with MORE gold content - with soldered bracelets - tend to fetch lower prices in the secondary market than those with straps."

Just wonder why... Any "hard" techinical/logical reasons? Anybody cares to give his opinion?

Perhaps, or perhaps it's just that fashion works in (sometimes very long) cycles, not sure about that... Personally I only have one two-tone, but I've been enjoying it a lot...

It's a very simple Rolex, the second watch I ever bought (I believe it was 2006), and it still gets lots of wrist time to this day. I haven't found any other two-tones that I like since, though the 5980 is a *huge* temptation... ...

Hi Jian, My personal choice is gold (or platinum) first, if it becomes possible to have that choice at all. And even better including an original corresponding gold bracelet - but I'm not exactly a friend of that soldered bracelet type, but there are nice...
