It doesn‘t sleep,

but it slows down to a power-saving 1.2 Hz oscillation, which allows it to go on for 65 days until power runs down.
In active mode at 5 Hz, power reserve is 4 days.
The video at mdg‘s post above shows how it works.
Best,

Long time since I posted the Twin Beat. Feels beautiful on the wrist! Enjoy a wonderful day, dear friends! Daniel ...
A real gentleman's watch.

This is what happens when VC flexes their muscles. Real innovation there.

Examples like this is probably what appeals to me most in contemporary watchmaking. A little of the old; perpetual calendar, a little of the new; use of sapphire layers, and some innovation; the twin beat feature. In my opinion, this is just a super cool ...
Thanks a lot, and I fully share your feelings!

The combination of old school technology and traditional craftsmanship combined with avant-garde movement and design is what the Twin Beat is about for me. Shows VC‘s enormous capabilities like no other of their watches imho. Thanks for the appreciation, ...
The systematic.entropy handle stuck from my university days
By: systematic.entropy : September 3rd, 2020-12:26
I'm a mechanical engineer by education, and the idea of "systematic" (order) "entropy" (disorder), is just novelty. However, that being said, in figuring out what watches I like and how I want to collect, I've arrived at being one who is attracted to nove...
I can relate.

I'm also an engineer by training and I fully share your values. What watches/brands are you attracted to most? In terms of innovation, it's mostly the independents for me, with De Bethune, Urwerk being a constant temptation. Other independents that are do...
Lol, very much the same
By: systematic.entropy : September 4th, 2020-06:15
I'm continually ironing out what appeals to me. There's what I appreciate, and there's what I want. I fully appreciate the design freedom and artistic flair of independents like MB&F, Urwerk, and De Bethune. I appreciate the technical prowess of FP Jo...
An engineering tour de force

Congratulations for acquiring this piece. I love the concept behind it. You can feel good about it even if you wear it rarely - even once every 65 days should be enough!
Thank you, dear Jurry.

Both are stunning works of art

But the 1921 has a special place in my heart! Either way, you‘ll make us happy with your next post. Have a great day, my friend. Daniel
