I hope this answers your question.

I was looking for an elegant sports watch to add to my collection. I think I don't need to list the usual suspects.
Honestly, I tried to get a 5711 in late 2016/early 2017, but I was too late. I didn't want to pay such high premium for it. I also passed on a few opportunities (4 times) to obtain a AP Jumbo at list price. I didn't pull the trigger on them mostly for the function it offers. There is absolutely nothing wrong with them, but I wanted a more modern movement. Why? I don't know... Hahaha. On the spec sheet, this VC is just impressive. Long power reserve. Anti-magnetic. Robust water resistance. Legibility. Quick-change strap. Most importantly, I like the look of it as much as a Nautilus or a Jumbo. I know many would disagree, but to me they all look equally sexy.
So, to answer you question... What made the final push? I think I finally realize I've just been waiting for that perfect watch that was never going to happen. It was easy to find faults in a watch. I also realize that after its release I always look for this blue dial version (the brown one came close) to try on. That blue is just mesmerizing. Technically, it almost has everything I want. Aesthetically, it is unique and under-the-radar in this current craze for PP, AP and Rolex. Emotionally, I just love the idea of having a do-it-all watch and this comes close to being one.
I did almost go for the chrono version, but it was too thick. However, as pre-owned, the chrono version is hard to resist!

I’ve been lusting after this piece ever since it was announced. I just never pulled the trigger. I passed on 3 of this at my local AD... At one point, the AD told me the blue variant would become less available out of the factory boutiques. Even then, I p...

Thank you, Nico. It’s almost perfect.

I really wish it hacked, but life goes on. Ha

Thanks for your little review.

You made a great decision and really have a piece that never gets boring. Enjoy and dont forget to post many more pictures. Do you already got the new box, the one thats a bit more similar to the PP-Box? If yes, did you still get a travel-bag for your pie...

Oh no!

I do have the new box, which is smaller than the original one. It's more like a PP or Rolex box. I thought the quality was very good. Unfortunately, I didn't get any goodies along with this purchase. So far, I haven't found anything negative about this wa...

Thank you. Keep us updated ! :) [nt]

The strap change system is something that really appeals to me. Whatever about changing one gator strap for another easily, being able to go from bracelet to rubber absolutely gives you a different watch. Enjoy it.

Huge congratulations!

It’s a great watch in so many respects. Reminds me that I have to wear mine again. Best, V. ...

Now I'm contemplating buying one for my wife too...

I know she wouldn't want it, but it would be cool to have matching Overseas.

I hope this answers your question.

Congratulations!!! I feel you. I, too, am thinking of getting a copper brown piece.

This blue dial variant looks extremely stunning and plays with the light very well. No photo is able to justify its beauty. I bet it looks extremely gorgeous with the blue leather strap that comes with it.

Brown was on the shortlist.

A shortlist of two. Haha. In the end I picked blue, but the brown is very special. Blue was the lazy choice for me. I was lucky that they only had a blue and silver for me to pick from.

Congrats fuigo!

I also just acquired mine from my AD on Saturday. Waited for a few months for it to arrive -- I may be wrong but I think the blue dials may be getting harder to source from ADs, or it might just be in SF where my AD is located. Kind regards, Dan

Congrats to you too!

That’s what I’m hearing from the AD here.

Congrats 🎉

My next watch, although I want the silver dial.

I’ve only seen the silver dual time version.

Wear it in the best of health and may it time only the finest moments. Love your reasons for buying the OS. (Wish the PP/AP/Rolex herd) would read your responses.
