Hi Jurry,
I'm mostly for the coloured metal - as you maybe know.
In my opinion the yellow and pink gold style is a completely different story than the white gold / platinum / steel.
Yellow / pink / white: It should fit the setting or occasion, the combination in which it comes along, the personality of the owner and his mood.
The customer should feel most comfortable with his choice.
The collecting value in the end is related to demand and availability (production numbers) but you always need the combination – utmost attraction is the best, for the owner to enjoy and for the value.
The taste for metals change over the time gradually, you could not make a prognosis were it will be in the future. Maybe it will be the Vanta Black Platinum?
The attaraction of coloured metals exists for at least 3000 years - think about the early cultures like Ancient Egyp.
