Having owned the 4500V (which I also love), I have to say I felt the white background of the date wheel would distract a bit from the blue dial and take away from the dial symmetry. The hour markers are generally shorter on this piece than on the 4500V and the date font and arrow pointer are in a light blue color that is easy to read, but also easy to ignore if not specifically looking for the date. Overall, while the dial is more complicated, I find there is less to distract from the beautiful blue background. I wasn't convinced about this piece until I managed to see one in person, and once I did, I couldn't get it out of my mind. Thank you for looking!

A retrograde date and moonphase are unusual complications for a supposed sports watch...but I like quirky watches! And you can't beat that blue dial ...
