As it turned out, the grand feu enamel dial was impossible to resist. ;-)

Beautiful Stardust dial
By: Tick Talk : May 12th, 2020-10:42
When I first saw this years ago, I thought of wabi-sabi, but am reassured it was intentional stardust finish. And gorgeous, too. Thanks for sharing, a bright moment in the day
Where's Alex...

I'll bet he's got a few ;-)
Speaking of Alex....

Do you recall Alex's Guilloche "Wedding Cake" dial watch. That was/is the best I've ever seen.
I remember that one

don't seem to have a photo but here is a different reference with the same dial.. And one from GP ...
You got it.
By: MikiJ : May 12th, 2020-14:28
The GP dial is really close. Alex's watch also had a VC Mushroom crown. Go find one of those.
Found him!

once I found the password to the Alex vault, there were all kinds of surprises inside... Alex Bling Bling ...
Excellent work, Dean!

That is always how I picture Alex! RFLMAO! That "wedding cake" V&C is incredibly beautiful -- everything we love about vintage V&C, no? Thank you for the additional images. respo
This is my kind of post!

From a GTG with Dan last year. And a prior GTG: Cheers, respo ...
I did, Dean! ;-)

That was the largest gathering of CRs in which I have had the pleasure to participate. Dan really brings the heat to these GTGs. Cheers, respo

Very nice

I did not know the blue ink version, what was this to commemorate? I know red 12, the limited blue, and regular black ink. This ref intrigued me, however, never seen in person. I love the vintage look especially the case and lugs, but not sure if that mea...
OMG!

I haven't seen this one before, and the Maltese Cross at 6 is a superb touch. Is this bespoke? Please tell the backstory...
Few people have seen this one ;-)
By: respo : May 13th, 2020-07:59
It is an Ateliers Cabinotiers piece from 2008, Dean. The Maltese Cross in the minutes track is a nice detail, isn't it? The "&" also makes an appearance on the rotor as in the regular production and other versions. Cheers, respo
Truly special

Youโre killing me
By: Jurry : May 12th, 2020-13:30
I like the version that came after this one (with that cream off-white enamel dial) even better than this (also truly magnificent) almost black dial (but I belief itโs very very dark grey-blue isnโt)

That is one of my favorite details...
By: respo : May 13th, 2020-06:15
...It was an inspired decision by the designers to include the "&" in this reference. As far as I know, they have not repeated that detail in any other reference since. I wonder if VC's Cabinotiers program would even allow the use of "&" in a bespoke mode...
No
By: Jurry : May 13th, 2020-11:17
Iโm willing to bet you the answer is no. Not even special order Cabonitiers will allow to use
I recall seeing this one many years ago on . . .
By: Dr No : May 12th, 2020-15:44
. . . our CM forum, Nicolas. Berny was offering it, if memory serves correct. I never contacted him as the asking price was more than I could afford. But if I could have, I would have!
I hope you don't think this heresy

but I also really like the re-edition 1958 Geophysic, in platinum for the dial. It would make a great photo paired with VC Chronometre Royal 1907. Probably couldn't be considered "cousins" any longer, but good friends
