Fifty Six

I have been on the fence with this one since it came out but the boutique only petrol blue debuted at SIHH made me want to take another look. My biggest issue thus far is where it sits in the wearable hierarchy neither dress or sports I personally see it as a hybrid aka Skydweller type watch and having caught a glimpse this weekend of it being available on a bracelet I’m thinking this could find a way into the collection

I would add it to the list of contenders for me if it weren't for the much discussed date window design and movement. I thought given the reception on announcement they might try and address these before going into full production. Hopefully more options ...

To be honest, I think having a dressy/sporty balance is great and not at all a defect.

However, the other members of this line with the Geneva seal appeal more to me.

I wasn t aware VC has his own 1159

thanks for sharing it ,TBH WTF designed that date window such off in size ? This whole watch is s double facepalm

It’s always going to have its detractors and yes a larger movement or better still no date would be better

But it’s no C1159. In this day and age what can you get from HH at Rolex pricing

+1 [nt]

I like it - the slim case, flat bezel, oblique crown, polished bracelet wud put this into dressy category for me ....

....compared to the overseas. Though I am not sure if I wud keep those sharp hr/min hands as they cud have used the something more with contours to match that crown. Absence of secs ring also make it more dressy. Oddly the dial is more app...

For me it's a flat no.

The date window is awful. The movement is not Geneva Seal and obviously inferiorly finished when seen side by side (which I have compared live). The movement is of perfunctory origin as previously discussed, but more awkward is the unused subseconds drive...
