The Gen. 1 Overseas is a symbol of an very exciting period in watchmaking in the mid 90ies. I didnt knew that there are different versions. I always wanted to learn more about the Overseas, but couldnt find much information. Even the Masters of time book does not write much, so i think VC could do a better job of telling their story. However, you are doing it, which is great!

Can you tell me whether the first Gen Overseas has been a comercial sucess for VC?

The diff between VC's cal 1310 and subsequent 1311 is the thickness which was increased from 2.98 to 3.28 mm after they discovered the main plate was actually flexing from the rotor movement.

A great watch, the blue dial is mesmerizing!

For direct comparison, here's the 42040 with Cal. 1310: ...and @Tick Talk is completely right regarding increment of thickness of the movement from 1310 to 1311. And yes, minute hand adjustment feels quite light. Regards, Ron ...
