Showing only 12 months would need a leap year indicator - which adds height. That’s why 4 years are shown. Indeed not very readable but I prefer the thinness…
It's almost useless...
...if you're after thinness then get rid of it altogether. Patek managed 8.8mm in the 3940 and that is more than thin enough for me. it's also legible.
