This is just terrible..

Practically half of the ground level retail in buildings near where we are staying are boarded up. I hope most of these businesses can bounce back.

Yes!

I need another... There is something about putting on a Vacheron that I can’t explain. The company is the oldest continuously operating watch co. They have remained true to craft in ways Patek has not, IMO. And, it is a brand one buys for one’s self and o...

Yes.

I am intrigued by the VC 4400 movement. I believe it is in this one?

I have no idea, honestly. Just love

The look of the case.

No need to belittle Patek

One can turn the argument around and say VC is stuck in the past unable to innovate. It was Patek that came up with AC complication, and for me 5235G is one of the most interesting watches of the last decade. As for the impressing others part - If it’s no...

Yes !

Although I do not have any automatics in my collection, now.. Not sure if this one would make a good entrance, or not. 🤔

Different level of movement entirely.

 By: patrick_y : August 18th, 2020-09:38
This particular Vacheron Constantin has that special "thin" automatic movement that is much thinner than the 324 in Patek Philippe's 5227. So it's not an apple to apple's comparison. It's kind of like why the Audemars Piguet 15202 and the 15400 are not th...

But in difference to 15202 vs 15400, there is more to consider here.

the points for case design and dial clearly go to the PP and imo feel quite a bit more high end, actually. There is a y..tbe video comparing those two, and i think its not comparable to the two RO where the thinness of the calibre is important indeed.

That 5227 case is well made.

No complaints there! And great hinge integration for the caseback!

Is that Shreve & Co? If so they need to clean their watches better!

Welcome to San Francisco. It's a pity that this fine city is in shambles during your visit! Hopefully you can enjoy some Fine Take-Out Dining. Haute Cuisine in a takeaway box!

Yes, I was at Shreve.

The watch had the plastic film on prior to my trying it on. Also I had bee handling it for about 5-10 mins. So finger prints are probably mine. It is truly sad that the city is in Shambles. Covid is bad. But IMO people here are over reacting and it is des...

Gotcha!

Not a strategic piece to keep in stock due to the high MSRP and low feature count, perhaps I should help advise their buyer. The city is a mess! A lot of tech companies in the San Francisco area are able to have most of their employees work from home. Thu...

We shall see! It's going to be a tough time!

The stores in Union Square are mostly supported by tourists. Locals are not big shoppers. Locals are mostly techies and accountants, while techies/accountants make a lot of money, they don't usually have a desire for fine clothing or fine anything. At lea...

We left early.

We couldn’t take the general state of affairs in SF right now. We were supposed to stay until Saturday. But the city is basically not functioning. We hope SF gets back on its feet since it is one of our favorite cities to visit.

Definitely a very boring city to visit right now!

And with all the smoke from the multiple wild fires! Not an enjoyable visit!

Was your salesperson Ari?

Timeless is a term inflationary used here in our forum but this one in RG and a black dial is the epitome of it. A fantastic VC!

Being MIA for about 5yrs and looking...

to start contributing again, this shot gives me a good reason to come start re-contributing to all these wonderful forums. I had a chance to spend some time at a VC boutique in Dubai and was able to take some shots of some wonderful dress pieces that were...

It is not mine, though. But I love the thinness and simplicity.
