I love both watches. Didn’t know that VC nor that ALS had such a week indicator in the past.
The only watch I know that has it is that patek that was released something like 1.5-2 years ago.
If you want to have a date, you might as well have a stylish one!
Here is a complication that has my attention: the week hand that takes a year to go around the main dial is a great concept Vacheron had a nice ref. 47052 in the 90s and Lange did something similar with the kalenderwoche ref 245.021. That one was a bolder...

I tend to forget about that one. Maybe it is the font... I would need to try it on. The Lange is the best IMO but very rare
