Maybe you are right because of the VF case that could be clarified, VF very well produced cases like this.
That could explain the difference between 6k to 12k but only if there would be the magnificant VF style also.
But anyway it is definitely an authentic V&C case of that period, the quality of the cases do not differ too much between the case makers.
Honestly anything else you stated is without any substance:
Abilities mature far earlier than 1940's and there are many obvious examples.
Modern style influenced by Art Nouveau occurred 1917 (e.g. ref 1425 - 1429) modern style influenced by Bauhaus or Art Deco starting to occure as early as the 1920's.
And those early samples are certainly most valuable.
What you are observing on 'abilities side' have been the benefits of the merger with JLC and the use of their ebauches.
But I would assume a valuation of 1.000 € is utmost inappropriate.
My recommendation for the aficionado: Do not sell your V&C watch with this auction house. They seem not to be able to valuate your watch in an appropriate way.
If you intend to buy double check (as always) what you get.
