Getting something of intrinsic value is very smart on your part. Bravo! Some currencies you want to reduce your exposure to ASAP due to constant / ongoing high devaluation. Which currency are you using and how badly has it devalued in the last 36 months? ...

Pay twice is robbing your own wallet. Pay above retail, depends on the situation. I skip all watches that are increased in price. I skip watches that have an unreasonable price tag. Honest watches and bargains are my goal.

notice the odor the rubber VC straps delivered with this watch have. I really wanted to wear it on the rubber strap, but the odor while not bad or strong is still there. Never seen that before.
I'm in the No camp, although silly price inflation can be useful too. It helps mark up the watches from which one should walk away without a second thought.
There's another useful by-product. When prices hit nosebleed velocity, the reasons to venerate the market disappear and it is revealed for what it is: an arena where the basest of human behaviours run wild. There's nothing dignified or rational about it. ...
