I agree with all of you above, but

...when it came to wrist shots, would you still prefer the 31mm VC over the 37mm PP? I do admire the VC in this pic, a lot. But at 31mm personally I find it not wearable.

A good reason for VC to think about its next icon in their Historiques line.

Happy Friday to you all!

Vacheron Top Wind / Patek 5196P.

37 mm platinum case for the 5196P, 31 mm steel case for the Top Wind, with a dial which is close in aesthetics. I really love this shot. But each time I see it, I damn myself to not have jumped on this Vacheron which I find really exquisite. Best, Nicolas...

Yes, top wind, top class. ;)

+1. Thanks, GM.

i always thought VC don't design the hands well enough (or too lazy)...this one is an exception

i like VC here more than PP...i think it is much complete & cohesive as design. (i think PP would have been similar if it was smaller diameter). cdt, mahesh.,

A true jewel, this watch.

Is one of my all time favourites. Incredibly piece. The VC is one of the rare watches that still looks absolutely beautiful next to it. Do you know the VC reference by any chance? Best Fx

Thank you!

Made before model references were a thing

but V&C kept a photo reference catalog for significant new pieces and this one was #3425 from 1934. They were made using Lepine-type movements hence the top-winding feature with seconds at 6 o'clock. There was also a version from 1935 with crown in conven...

Correct. Here is a photo of the movement.

The VC looks more vintage than the Patek

Yes, I agree with that.

 By: amanico : February 26th, 2021-14:39

Even 37 mm would be great!
