I just did some cleaning today and found a watch I still have . I belonged to Ret. Lt Col. Lockwood of the US Marine Corps as inscribed in the case back . I did a background check on him and he was present at the japanse attack on Pearl Harbor and the war...

Not a military-issue watch but one produced by V&C during the war for retail sale in the American market. If correct it should have cal. 454, a screw-down case back and inner dust cover, and hole-through lugs. On this example, the dial fonts are wrong sug...

. . . the US military in '45. Unfortunately, not the original dial; most likely produced on spec in the Fifties, when surplus examples became available for the secondary market. Does your VC have military markings on the back? Art

No she has no military markings , just an inscription R.S.D. Lockwood - U.S. Marine Corps. I find it very special that a USMC Lt. Colonel would choose a Vacheron Constantin as his watch and wonder what criteria would he use in choosing this watch ? Do yo...
