For the sake of completion

Here are two others, brother and "sister" of the iconic American 1921. The small version of the rose gold American 1921 side-by-side with the original large size. And a very special limited edition made for a motor sports club in the U.S. The missing model is the "normal" dial encased in yellow gold. I don't seem to have an image of that one, but perhaps someone else does...?

Recently required VC1921 with pinstripe suit is... perfection! Went through a lot when considering my first VC and I am very satisfied with my choice. ...

Who would that lucky guy be haha. This gold version is gorgeous as well. I don’t know what it is with this watch but whichever version I see, is a feast for the eyes

This might be the smaller size version

which if so, suits your wrist perfectly!

its the original version at 40mm

as a person inclined towards <39mm watches, this was the first adventure upto 40mm (besides rolex). And like you said it suits me!

Did you tried the smaller size too?

With a different coloured bracelet I imagine the smaler size maybe also a smart choice. But your's fit's your wrist perfectly.

Yes I tried the smaller version

but it seems way to feminine, looked like I stole it from my lady's closet :P

And only if compared side by side

The 36.5 mm is a very classic size for a dress watch and for some the better fit. They just became more supersized in the recent two decades. My recommendation, check for proportions - the watch should not be much bigger than the wrist.

Agree

I agree My wife has the smaller version and I tried it few times with brown strap on it. But it just was too small for me. Plus cushion shape usually wears smaller a bit smaller on the wrist (well at least that’s how feel it when wearing cushion shape) Co...

That's the most important factor when buying a watch

that it suits you, not the brand, the movement, the complication or the metal it comes in but that it is at one with your wrist!

That is a perfect fit.
