Without a doubt, the new VC222 just released at W&W is beautiful and will be a big hit for VC. The most noticeable feature on the new release is the Date Window position versus the original. I took the opportunity to do a "Variation on a Theme" and played...  

I prefer D followed by B, but the manufacturer chose neither so I must be missing something!

I guess I could have done a mockup with Cindy Crawford: 1) As is. 2) Mole removed. 3) Uni-brow. 4) Mustache. Alas, this is a watch site and I thought I would keep it focused.

Yes best to keep it to watches, it’s easy to get distracted around here.

D for me but in 36mm please.

And while we’re fantasizing, my preferred variation would be rose gold with a brown sunburst dial like the limited production dial that was briefly available on the latest generation Overseas.

And I would like the original 1120 movement and the monobloc case too.

Because the dial is fully balanced and symmetrical.

As for Cindy, 1) without a doubt.

Please tell me, who needs AUTOMATIC on the dial? Are the brands afraid that we forget? I find it the silliest quote on a dial, especially on a high-end watch. GEO

Normally, i’d go no date but here, it might start to look like a bangle I don’t even mind that the original has the date window inside the minute track. It’s not as far off as, say, a date window on a 40mm iwc pilot or a no cyclops 5 or 6 digit sea dwelle...

The reissue has the same 37mm case width as the original 222, and the same movement, but the date window has shifted about 3mm inwards giving that extra real estate to play with. ...  

1) Higher beat rate. 2) Quick date set.

That said, I can’t pull off a yellow gold watch on a bracelet. All respect to those who can do it, but until VC comes out with a model in WG or steel (or titanium), this one isn’t for me.
