Division of the seconds scale
Apr 20, 2020,10:34 AM
After purchising mine in Pt it was made clear to me that the 4 thin lines between the thick lines on the seconds scale of the chronograph did not correspond with the increased frequency of the modernized movement.
That caused me some sadness and worry until and after I saw that VC had suddenly changed the dial so that 2 thin lines were between the seconds, as had just been done with the gold cased version that followed.
The VC Pt had lost some if not much of its aesthetic appeal, character and sublime serenity. It was technically correct, the division into 1/4 of a second, but had become a touch utilitarian for such a beautiful watch
Not so with the SS steel version, including the strap. There it is exactly right!
Being incredibly fortunate to have both the Pt and SS -- and actually using the chronograph functions on a daily basis, I can heartily congratulate you on having the Pt dial of my choice, if only for the above reasons.
It's up to you to discover many more!
