Congrats Bill!!

Aug 06, 2011,12:01 PM

I had the opportunity to test one of the first, when I had a private meeting with Dominique Bernaz at Maison V&C,

two or three years ago.
It suited Dom's big wrist perfect, but became to much pizza on my tiny wrist smile
Lucky you Bill, who has big wrists smile

Anyhow I think it's probably the most elegant of all Vacheron&Constantin watches ever made!
It got the same clean elegance as the dress watch from 1959, with 1003 cal.

I'm as you a yellow and sometimes rosé gold man, but this is the utmost PT watch...ever!

Once again my warmest congratulations!

Cheers
Doc

My New Patrimony Contemporaine

 By: WHL : July 24th, 2011-19:18
Until recently I have been an admirer of the Patrimony Contemporaine from afar. It exhibits all the characteristics that I find appealing in a Vacheron Constantin watch. It is elegant and beautiful and the attention to detail in the construction of the ca...

It's a beautiful watch. I had the fortune to get the boutique version in 2007 (RG + black dial) and still love it till now, it's a definite keeper. I rarely wear it (I sweat a lot huhu) now since the strap doesn't smell so good anymore, need to change it....

is probably the most difficult. Even better, in this case we can see it in different versions and they all work very well when we talk about Ref. 81180. Only one regret: 20mm movement in a 40mm case, but who can blame VC for using the lovely caliber 1400 ...

Simply perfect!

I have the rose fold version. I love it without a date window - so minimalist and so beautifully proportioned. It's a large watch, for a dress watch, but it sits on the wrist perfectly. The curvature of the face, the sparkling minute markers, the oh-so-lo...

Congratulations and thanks for sharing, Bill. I agree with you on the charms of this watch and about all versions being attractive. I have the boutique version (RG, Black dial and strap) which sees lots of wrist time (except now during Summer) but I still...

on your aquisition. VC or Breguet would be my choice for a two handed thin dress watch. You mentioned the retrograde day/date watch, which I love. The rose gold version is on my ever changing want list. I got a look at one in Las Vegas and it did not disa...

Almost perfect ...

An elegant piece. An exceptional dial. But then, upon seeing the movement, with the way those arms with their little round headed screws secure the movement ring to the case, I was surprised and frankly, dissapointed. Is this the best the aesthetes at Vac...
