I think their story rises above fashion. These watches were conceived in ecstasy for the 150th anniversary, yet born into the economic depression of 1935. A way to turn over unused lepine pocket watch movements at a good price. Charles Constantin credited this model with returning the factory to full-time production for a period. This piece appeared unrestored in the Quarter Millennium sale, lot 54.

Blow it up to 37mm and you have a new member of the Historiques collection. I bet it‘d find many admirers. I‘m quite surprised about the movement finish. Have never seen this on a Vacheron. Do you have any idea about manufacturing year or Ref? Best, Danie...
