Rolf has a place in my heart for all time...
With out going into too much detail, his excitement for life, enthusiasm and passion were infectious and he saved UN.
I spent some time with him over the years from 2000-2007 at Basel and on his USA visits, even hosting his kiddos in my home. I fondly remember his excitement each Baselworld when revealing new models to us during our appointments and his humanity when speaking candidly about his family later in the evenings.
Also, his love of his team that he amassed in Le Locle, was apparent when visiting the factory in 2003. Perhaps as I never worked for him I was blinded, but I don't think so. The admiration from all the folks for him was quite evident. He engendered a loyalty that was palpable.
A sad day in 2011 upon hearing of his passing from this lifetime.

and I met him when I lived there. Quite an inspiration and set me down a path of collecting a good number of UN pieces at the time. Since his passing and the moving along of Ludwig O, Pierre G I think they have lost some magic. Dave
