I thought of you for this one as the skeleton work is impressive.

New model, Ulysse Nardin BLAST!

Lots to discuss here. New UN-172 movement, platinum micro rotor, automatic tourbillon, self-deploying buckle, radical new case. 4 variations, some quick pics for now. ...

A lot to like heređź‘Ť. Extraordinary case design. AP concept comes to mind ...

...lukin at the lugs, plots and contrasting 3D angular bridges but this is its own beast. Even with 4-layers the sandwiched case appears to be thin enough- Moser endeavor and Hublot cases come to mind. Great execution all in all.

Was lucky enough to see these pieces a couple of weeks ago.

The case design and lug profile particularly works well on the blue blast. Disappointing that they are only 50m water resistant

I hope to see them soon. This model is rather radical.

Most watches I have bought in my collecting are sight unseen, but this is one I would need to try on to know.

A different kind of UN innovation here.

This one is very aggressive looking. Not the charming quality that was abundant on older releases like the Sonata. I am likely not a purchaser of this model, but look forward to seeing it.

I don't think this is for me...

But we still need to discuss it's pluses and minuses.

Agreed, Ronald. [nt]

Must appeal to someone, or else it would not...

Have been made.

I think this reaction will apply for many.

 By: MichaelC : August 26th, 2020-04:22
It is interesting, no doubt there.

Preliminary reaction is positive, especially on White and Blue models.

The angular casework is pretty darn cool. The Pt micro-rotor is pretty darn cool. The straps look pretty darn cool. I wish the diameter was less than 45mm, but the thickness isn't bad at 13mm (approximate). Definitely a watch to be seen in the flesh. Than...

I like the blue bezel model the most.

The white and grey is unique, I like that UN is using this combination on a few offerings.

I like the caseđź‘Ť [nt]

Me too, especially the multiple finishes.

This one must really be interesting in catching the light.

Another, truly, avant garde piece, I love it

Just not sure my ego is up to it, but I love it.

I think your ego can handle it!

But that is no reason to buy a watch. Love, on the other hand... follow the heart

Thanks, I really like the case!

Case really looks great, but I’m not so sure about the 16:9 TV screen in the middle of the dial, it seems to hinder the view on the movement for no functional reason

This is my main issue with the "dial" as well.

That rectangle bothers me. On other tourbillons in the Executive collection, it disappears and or blends in with the X shape. I fear the brand missed on this detail. This is such a radical design, who cares if it has the rectangle common to the collection...

Thanks for your reply, Cory.

Hope you are well mate.
