A conventional perpetual calendar is programmed four four years, not more. However, I seriously hope that my lifespan will stretch a while beyond that. Marcus

Thank you for sharing this excellent photo of your marine chronometer. Considering the use, I would say it is in great shape. I have other steel watches and they are not anywhere near as bump and scratch resistant as the UN.
It is the same 316L steel used for most other steel watch cases.
