I am aware that Rolex traditionally uses the term "perpetual" on its dials, but this has nothing to do with what "perpetual" normally means in horology. Rolex only means that its automatic winding makes it possible to wear the watch "perpetually", without the need to manually wind the movement.
In all other watch technology, "perpetual" designates a so-called perpetual calendar, that is a mechanically pre-programmed calendar, that takes into account the various lengths of the months (30/31 days), including the varying length of the February (28/29 days), without the wearer having to manually correct the calendar display. This is a much, much more sophisticated mechanism than the Rolexes you mentioned feature.
