Thank you - I am learning at your prompting :)

It was quite a challenge, but I learnt a lot. I made it harder for myself because I like to see movement in the balance wheel, but not the escapement, which I discovered really narrows options down quite a bit. As an experienced guy, you might be amused at some of my other findings.
1) Make sure that the watch is clean before taking lots of different shots only to find that it is covered in debris when you view the shots in detail on the laptop!! Who knew??😁
2) I was surprised to find that my clumsy fingers introduce camera blur just by pressing the shutter button, so I must stabilise the camera for close ups
3) I assumed that image stabilisation always has to be a good thing. Not so. I got the sharpness I was missing only after I turned IS off - it was the only thing left to try at that point. A curious finding, but maybe it becomes counterproductive once the camera itself is stabilised?
4) Perfection is not attainable for me and compromise is necessary. For one example, my resistance to seeing a frozen balance wheel means that I can never achieve absolute sharpness and have to try and make blur a virtue
I had no idea that there was so much involved in just taking a photo of a watch, but I am pretty sure that my other watches should be quite easy after the challenges presented by the Freak. Time will tell.
