I love the feeling of power, but I usually do 50 rounds in a session w/ this caliber. 357 Magnum, more manageable but you still get a great feeling. If you are learning, I recommend starting with very low power, like .22. Too many times I see someone try ...

The Dirty Harry 44 is a factory blued 8 3/8" barrel. The "Magnum Hunter" in the photo w/ The Freak was a distributor exclusive made in the 90s. It is also an N-Frame, with a "round butt". Both are made by Smith & Wesson, not Springfield.

Those revolvers are quite fascinating. As I wrote above, I know too little about them. Must do some reading to educate myself.

Pistols and semi autos are much more popular, but I shoot these old Magnums very well. Plenty to research, good for you for looking into it

I have a couple of .44 magnums.. If you really want some abuse step up to a .454 Casull, mine is a beast.

I usually stick with one cylinder on that bad boy.
