Today we have unbelievable computer power at our finger tips...

My formal introduction to computing was a 1968 university course... we didn't actually have a computer on campus, what we had was an IBM 026 Card Punch.  We programmed in Fortran, punched our cards, sent them off to the main campus, and a week later we found out if our programs ran - or not...  in the process we became expert typists and proof readers.  Once we took a "field trip" to a local business to see an actual computer ; )

The first personal computer I ever used was the Apple II with dual 5¼" floppy drives, 4 KB up to 48 KB max, and a small B&W monitor.  The first PC that I owned was a "lap top"... the NEC PC8201 with 240x64 px screen (40x8 characters) which I used for years to FTP files using an acoustic modem... I had a fast bi-directional dot matrix printer... and ear plugs.
