Another math problem

I tried to use this as a marketing tool but it caused so many incoming phone calls by baffled customers, and it bewildered our customer service so we pulled it. Now here's the real problem. How much does a cup of tea cost to make? ...

Yes, but I got paid to do all this tea comparison math stuff

So, the final conclusion is that buying a bigger pack of tea is more economical overall.... Who would've thought !?! ........

I do almost all of the shopping in our family...

...and keep a close eye on pricing by unit (per piece, per pound, etc.) and usually 'bigger is better.' But sometimes the stores like to get sneaky, and it is more economical to buy 2 small packages than one large one...

A tricky thing is the cost of shipping, discounts, etc

And of course the appearance of the package matters too. Tea varies greatly in density, as in this comparison of 100 gram packages occupying from .35 to .82 liters. As the cereal box says "Sold by weight not by volume" Cazalea ...

Interesting and informative,
