TimeOut

The greatest era for soundtracks

I still pull out my 80s soundtracks and play them.  There were so many great ones, and some of the singles from these albums really stand the test of time.  A few of my favorite 80s movie soundtracks follow, along with my picks for best tracks in parentheses.

- Pretty In Pink ("If You Leave" by OMD, "Pretty In Pink" by Psychedelic Furs, "Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want" by The Smiths)

- The Breakfast Club ("Don't You (Forget About Me)" by Simple Minds)

- Some Kind Of Wonderful (Lick The Tins' cover of "Can't Help Falling In Love" and the March Violets' cover of "Miss Amanda Jones" as well as "Shyest Time" by The Apartments)

- St. Elmo's Fire ("Man In Motion" by John Parr)

- Say Anything ("In Your Eyes" by Peter Gabriel)

Great topic, Bruno!

Cheers,

Daos
