I assume they do a lot of research and planning. I know from experience that there are parts of the route that one has no choice but to obey the speed limit

but there are also parts where one can exceed 200 mph. Of course these cars also have auxiliary fuel tanks to avoid stops.

Previous record was set by a Mercedes E63 AMG which had a top speed of around 193mph.

Furthermore; this current record was done with minimal traffic due to Coronavirus conditions in an Audi A8L; and achieved 26h 38m. The previous one with the Mercedes E63 AMG and more normal traffic was 27h 25m, less than an hour difference! I thought the ... 

They have spotters and cars that drive with them on certain parts of the trip.
